As we head into the holiday season, many of us can finally start to breathe a deep sigh of relief. We are now a year removed from the coronavirus pandemic and dancefloors around the globe are getting back into the full swing of things - welcoming many of their patrons with open arms and vaccine checks. 

Although we should not declare victory just yet, it looks like the largest disruptive force of the 21st century might be behind us.  With booster shots in hand, the next couple of months should be utilized as a time for us to relax and gradually return to our old selves. For those reading this page, that typically means getting back to our favorite clubs and venues to let loose all the pent up energy from the past several months. 

If you are looking for a soundtrack to mark this semi-return to normalcy, look no further than the latest VA from BB favorite Honey Butter Records! Titled Loosey Goose, the Swedish imprint has decided to stick to their underground roots with a record featuring some of the brightest rising stars from the scene today. The 6-track compilation includes new music from the likes of Rafael Cancian, Fidde, Sam Paradise, HATT.D, and Max Telaer - all close friends and collaborators of the label’s Head Honcho Emil Sunessson. 

The song we are fortunate to share with you today comes from Berlin-based maestro Siggatunez and goes by the name “Day of My Life.” From its airy assortment of strings to its complementary mix of soulful vocal samples, this track embodies the sort of joy many of us are feeling at the moment - as we get to resume the lives we had before 2020. Certainly a tune DJs will salivate to play at the start of their sets, “Day of My LIfe” contains a mood-setting arrangement of melodies that signal to its listeners the best is yet to come!

PREMIERE: Siggatunez - Day Of My Life

America’s Jerome Baker and Ellery Cowles, AKA Pitch Deck, have been regulars of the scene since the nineties. The pair first came to attention with their individual productions, on esteemed labels such as DJax and Green Velvet’s Relief. They cut their teeth on their home city’s club circuit, regularly finding themselves behind the decks at some of Chicago’s biggest warehouse parties and events.

In more recent times, the duo have made a name for themselves on contemporary imprints in the form of Farris Wheel Recordings and Whitebeard Records to name a few. Now, Lay It Down will act as their debut EP in 2021 and what better way to celebrate than by releasing it on Underground Therapy Muzik, the legendary label of Roy Davis Jr.

Rob Redford makes his debut on Boogie Cafe following on from his well-received work with Sy Sez on Raising Records and To the Rock. We came across Rob's work from his own projects under X-TRAX, leading us to make contact about working together . The product of this is his 614 EP. A masterclass in deep house , with a strong nod towards the sounds of Detroit & Chicago and the likes of Glen Underground , Ron Trent and the late great Mike Huckerby.

Makin ends meet and We will be here having Melodic chords, super bouncy baselines and snappy drums, both with emotive spoken vocals. Factory 2659 takes you straight to early 90s Chicago , very much in a Glen Underground vibe, but with a modern twist.

Rain in July completes the EP with a nod to the early 2000s , with a distinctive west London broken vibe.

Interflow EP is the second studio EP by English producer Joe Newham on Houseum Records, released under his stage name Gavinco. The album's musical style is described as a synthesis or musical library of electronic sounds incorporated with the acid jazz instrumentation.

This EP is a collection of five tracks starting with the hypnotic yes transient track 'Much Love' with the singer Abela. The second track 'Regards' brings up the motion in the EP. That takes you on a tropical yet tantalizing trip with the solo piano riffs and arithmetic glockenspiel.

Third is 'Interflow' with the long lasting journey of muted trumpets and saxophone riffs that are accompanied by the live instrumentation of drum and bongo. We then move on to the fourth track 'Movate', this track pushes you back out into the dance groove with the heavy live bass recording that has been incorporated into the old school electronic 4/4 house rhythm.

Finally we finish with the bonus digital track 'Imagination' with the upbeat disco drum pattern and lavish ballroom style of house music.

Parisian Cosmonection is back for his second outing on Beats Of No Nation. This time a little deeper and more refined but with that same groove that piqued our interest the first time round.

We premiere, Maerado - a percussive swung techy workout, underpinned by a whirring South Asian, Desi undertone. This snaps in and out of action as soon as you're soon met by the chord progression and the punchy bass line, which both combine and meld seamlessly into the mix. The anchored loop washes over and over in hypnotic like synchronicity - with elements delicately and gradually added and removed from the mix. If this is your bag, the rest of the record is most definetely worth a look, with cuts both suitable for the armchair or indeed the floor.
