We welcome a collaboration that embodies the cosmic balance between earthly grounding and nocturnal transformation. Kora (@kora-musique) and Oiseau de nuit (@odnmusique) unite as Hiboux (owls).

This marks a significant moment where Phases Musique and Saisons Musique (@saisonsmusique) intersect. But beyond the convergence of two collectives lies a deeper story — one of mentorship, friendship, and shared musical evolution. When Oiseau de nuit took his first steps in music making back in 2015, it was Kora who guided his way. Their collaboration within Saisons Musique has been a long-standing journey, and Hiboux represents not just a meeting of two artists, but the culmination of years of creative dialogue and mutual inspiration.

Together, they channel the supermoon’s energy — that delicate tension between holding on and letting go, between stability and metamorphosis.

Like the owls that navigate at darkness with precision and grace, this release moves through shadow and light with intention. Hiboux carries this medicine forward. Downtempo rhythms that root you to the earth while organic textures invite transformation.

Kora brings it’s traveler’s compass, guiding us through diverse sounds and stimulating flutes textures where acoustic and electronic worlds collide. Oiseau de nuit contributes the deep, contemplative groove essence. The result is a sonic ceremony — patient, purposeful, and filled with the possibility.

It’s a music for the hours when the world sleeps but the spirit awakens.

This latest release from Signatune brings together four big names from the Parisian house scene; Djebali, Politics of Dancing, Okain and Reda Dare, one of Signatune’s founders. A celebration of the local scene, Signatune has put out this EP to reflect on their own routes in Parisian house scene and to celebrate the subgenre. With Reda Dare being from Paris and having spent the first ten years of his career there, this release is of particular importance to him.

Getting us started off is ‘Into The Depth’ by Djebali. ‘Into The Depth’ walks a line near apparent minimalism without coming even vaguely near to the potential boredom that comes with it. Made up of few parts, the track rarely strays beyond the bounds of the drum machine, slinky bass line and the softly droning synth. ‘Into The Depth’ keeps it simple but also keeps it constantly pushing ahead, getting your whole body moving.

Politics of Dancing’s ‘Lisa’ moves into completely different sonic territory. Coming out the gate with a classic, sharp house beat, the track kicks into peak Euro-90’s when the bassline lands. A smattering of vocal samples complete the sound of the excellent throwback track. Okain’s ‘Delair’ has a polar opposite texture, with the beat and music having a decidedly modern and digital sound. The track builds and builds with quirky, ricocheting synths and some found sound samples. As ‘Delair’ keeps developing, it will start to move you in ways that you didn’t know were possible.

Reda Dare then delivers his own vision of the subgenre on ‘La Bien Aime’. With a cleverly syncopated drum machine providing the framework, Reda Dare fills the space with a deep, lowdown bassline, distant synths and the occasional break of filtered guitar and vocals. ‘La Bien Aime’ could work at any time of the day or night but one thing is certain; it will get you dancing.

Capataz immediately grabs your attention and makes you ask what is this? The unique call and response vocal is instantly memorable and the overseer of the playful peak time track with an incredible sub 303 bass that holds everything together while pushing the song forward. You can hear the Girada Unlimited edit being played by Ricardo Villalobos at Amnesia and most recently in his BBC1 Essential Mix. The 12" vinyl features edits inspired from Liaisons Dangereuses, a 80's German electronic band founded by Beate Bartel and Chrislo Haas with vocalist Krishna Goineau.

On the other side, Reserval have been made at Momo Trosman’s house but there is no more information about it. Raresh's favourite.
