The second instalment of the Groove Gems collection featuring an array of talented artists from my main collectives, @RhythmandReason and @ORPHGANG... 

This project was a great opportunity to showcase some of the amazing talent I have come across since releasing the first instalment of Groove Gems; all of whom I can individually consider as close friends and musical inspirations. Furthermore, Groove Gems II also allowed me to solidify my sound (put a stamp on it if you like) and expose listeners to the musical development/growth I have experienced since the last album.

Ill Camille had this to say about the track via email:

So the inspiration for the track came from a conversation [with] some friends about how much we experienced in the last year, to us ultimately concluding that we were closer to reaching our goals than we thought. It’s a hopeful record. Just want everyone, the homies, my loved ones, to stay encouraged on the path so this is sort of the vibed out soundtrack for it. This song is released apart of Sofie’s SOS Mixtape on Stones Throw Records.

Let Me Glo is me stepping into my purpose and recognizing that the glow up is internal. I had to put in the work to better myself, preserve my sanity and mental health, let people and things go, and get honest with myself. This music came from a rough year filled with transitions and changes. What I learned is I never used to doubt myself when I was young and as an adult that shouldn't change.
