I've got to be one of the luckiest people alive. Not just because of streaming services (though let's be honest, they're lifesavers), but because I've hit the jackpot with my family. My kids?  My wife? They're not just great - they're the kind of great that makes you forget to check your phone for hours. And when you mix in some good music? That's the kind of joy you can't bottle.

There's this thing my son and I do when the rain starts drumming against the windows. We dive into movies like they're warm blankets, rewinding the same ridiculous scenes until we're both crying with laughter. You know those moments - when you've watched something for the tenth time and it's somehow even funnier than the first? We might have watched this particular scene a few too many times... or maybe not enough (is there such a thing?).

I've even woven some of our actual laughter into this track - yeah, that's us losing it in the background. If you can spot which movie this clip is from, I'll give you a golden prize. It's become our latest obsession, this scene that has us absolutely keeled over every single time.

This song? It's about all of that. The rain outside, the warmth inside, the perfect mix of family, music, and those ridiculous movie moments that become part of your family folklore. On August 25th, producer and multi-instrumentalist Will Glazier (aka Chilldabeast) unveils his most personal work to date, Originary of Sound. The single marks the first official collaboration between Glazier and his father, the pioneering digital poet Loss Pequeño Glazier, blending spoken word, piano, trumpet, and beats into a meditative chill-hop reflection on lineage, language, and sound itself

Drawing from Loss’s internationally recognized poetic practice, Originary of Sound weaves an excerpt from his digital poem Etymon (Poetry Library, Southbank Centre, London, 2013) into a soundscape that feels both timeless and new. Glazier, celebrated for his brass-infused electronic works as Willdabeast and as label head of Grand Alliance Music, steps into fresh territory here: performing live on baby grand piano for the first time, layering sampled improvisations with lo-fi textures, steady beats, and his signature trumpet.

For both father and son, the release embodies a bond that transcends art. From sharing Buffalo Bills fandom to a lifelong exchange of ideas, sports, and spirit, their connection now finds resonance in recorded form, an intergenerational dialogue of poetry and sound.

Released on Loss’s birthday, the track serves as a gift: a celebration of shared vision, love, and artistic kinship.
