Sonic 3K - Sky Sanctuary (Mega Drive Rearrange)

I wasn't that happy with the mix initially, but after the last few days of it being up on Private I'm actually quite happy with it, now.

Originally I had started this using SB Drawn to Life instruments, but pipca did something with the Crash soundfont recently, if I remember right. Some kind of fighting game song, I think. 
But anyway, that made me think to use Crash, which in retrospect worked SO well that it gave me the inclination to make all future SRB2 mixes just use whichever soundfont worked best for the compositional style. Happy late birthday. it took me 4 tries to type birthday just then.

I wondered yesterday if 4/13 had any significance. I had this odd feeling that it did. Then it turned out to be Homestuck Day.

So it would seem the replacement tracks in Sonic 3 aren't exactly up to snuff with the rest of the OST in Sonic Origins, so here I am huffing copium in an attempt to remedy the situation, even though I'm sure the rest of the game is still great lul

don't ask where i got the synths cuz i made them all myself :P (the saws, the bass, the brass and the squares/plucked notes)
in the actual middle sections of the songs passed the intro, the Rue The Day snare is layered with another one but I can't seem to figure out what though. And the bell in the second loop isn't exactly accurate but close enough.

A new better version of an old remix: this time, the bad future of Aquatic Ruin (based on MarsJenkar's MIDI). A bad future allowed me to add a Sonic CD's controversial feature: music loops, which weren't included in the final game.

I'll probably make new versions in the future.
