Ron Like Hell provides eclectic sets venturing into obscure international sounds, Techno, Synth, House, Acid and Disco which are appreciated by some of the most discerning dance floor enthusiasts.

Approaching a dj mix as assemblages, Ron Like Hell aligns sound with emotion, focusing on texture to create psychedelic soundscapes, imaginative spaces for comfort and surprise spectators with an unexpected crafty transition. With 27+ years of making people dance in numerous countries along with years of vinyl shop experience and music promotion, his/their role in the industry is unique and influential. Their latest production, EXALT is their dream come true where Ron selects a personally beloved dj to play solo then close out the night together with a b2b set. EXALT's first guest was Matrixxman in April 2022 at Basement in Ridgewood-Queens, NY. Ron also djs as Wrecked, a music first queer dance party which will turn 12 in March of 2023.

"Created deep from the bottom of my heart respectfully for the queer community in my off kilter multi-genre inclusive style this live in one take mix includes vinyl and cdj media. Mash-ups sit near disco originals, disco sampled 90s house thumpers meet modern deep tech house
pumpers and adjacent to all that, unashamed sassy vocal house is celebrated too. I also featured a few productions by some friends near and far: a trend that I can not shake since creating mixes during the 2020 shutdown. Overall, I wanted this mix to be a version of near
perfect just as when we go out and hear DJs at the club where a perfect blend is a fortunate dream come true and also some skips or light off the beat-mixing reminds us of our beautiful mortality. I feel the intention and soul of the dj is revealed when those moments are noticed. I hope everyone who follows the XOXA mixes and parties will play this mix before they head out to a party this Fall and Winter and beyond :)"

ENCAPSULATED JOY 002: LIVE @ NOWADAYS PRIDE NONSTOP 6/26/22

Jacob Meehan, a native of Roodhouse, Illinois (population 1,700) cut his chops in Chicago, the home of house, while working at Gramaphone Records and throwing/playing parties in and around the city. A major player in the new queer underground, he now resides in Berlin where he has furthered his musical prowess as producer and resident DJ of the much-beloved fête, Buttons, and the epic summer standout, Whole Festival. 

Major Records is pleased to feature the very first single release from Meehan, featuring a remix by our very own Nita Aviance. "Hier" started out with a nod to the forefathers, referencing David Morales and Frankie Knuckles mix of Alison Limerick's "Where Love Lives,” but quickly grew into a deep house dream full of funky synth leads and anthemic arpeggios all layered over some kicky-fresh beats. 

Nita’s remix strips it all down only to build it back up again, leaning into the arpeggios and riding those new wave synths through the dark night and straight into the dawn with her signature diva vocal cut-ups.

We are infinite beings capable of anything we put our minds to. Or I might just be on a lot of molly and some acid. It might not still be working, maybe we should do a bump. I’m in such a K hole right now. These amazing queer artists are the future, we are really a part of something, this is the dawn of a new era. Something happened… I don’t know, I’m feeling kind of weird, maybe if I just focus on one thing at a time…

I wanted to make a mix that showcased the up and down journey of these party weekends. Expressed a dark side, and the infinite nature all at once. I structured it as a full day of music in a one hour mix.

Utopian Utilitarian Mix

And now for something completely different...

Len Faki's reputation proceeds him. The Berlin-based DJ, producer and Figure and LF RMX boss has a list of accolades longer than your arm.

For nearly two decades he's been at the top of his game: he's held a long standing residency at Berghain since its opening, traded techno anthems with the likes of Ostgut Ton and Cocoon, notched up a nearly 200 strong discography on his Figure imprint, all whilst holding down a busy touring schedule year on year.

The latter has been turned somewhat on its head this year, but with the lack of gigs has come more time for creative exploration, something that Faki has undertaken with his new 'Open Space' series — a collection of carefully curated compilations that centre around forward-thinking electronica and ambient to stimulate the emotions and let the mind wander.

Giving established artists - known for their dancefloor-centric output - the freedom to showcase another side of their skills, the inaugural outing features a string of suitably moving compositions from the likes of Moritz Von Oswald, JakoJako, Tin Man and Faki himself.

To celebrate the release of Volume 1, which comes out today via Figure, Len eases us into a new week and lets us into a different side of his tastes, which simmer slowly from twinkling ambient and electronica to warm, fuzzy soundscapes.
