What will always be fashionable? Probably travelling, good food, and… a thermometer. Yes, an ordinary thermometer! When it becomes your main accessory for a few days, romantic dates under the Pyrenean sky are out of the question. Not even romance can help here — but fever medicine can. Luckily, taking care of a loved one is much easier than doing nothing.

— I feel awful… completely destroyed, and my throat — it’s like sandpaper!
— Hang in there, love. You’ll feel better soon.
— I told you we should’ve stayed in Amsterdam. Getting sick at the start of the tour sucks.
— Do you think a hot coffee and a croissant might make things a little better?
— Yay! Oh… right. I’m sick. Cough, cough.

Sharpening his sense of smell, Plate set off in search of something delicious. Pastry shops shimmered invitingly with their glass displays until one finally captivated him with its sheer abundance. “Bonjour, monsieur!” — a cheerful voice chirped from behind the counter. Care for every detail was in the air as a perfect reminder that even in the most unexpected moments you can brighten someone’s day.

— A whole week lost to the trip. Such a shame.
— What matters is that it’s over. At least we got to stay in France a bit longer. Don’t worry, I’ve already got us two train tickets to Bastogne. The train leaves tonight.

“Chocolate mines, waffles, and Trappist ale — that’s what we take pride in and our reason to live,” Needle's grandma used to say. She was born and raised in a southern province of Belgium. Two city kids obsessed with rhythm would come here to catch their breath after the chaos of urban life. The moment the train hissed in relief as it arrived, a guy and a girl jumped onto the platform, rolling their suitcases and making silly faces at each other.

— Now it’s just nature and no internet! We just need to drive the last leg.
— Yesss! We’ll admire castles and go on long walks. Maybe even find an old gramophone. Hee-hee!

People used to say that for Needle and Plate, it was enough just to be together. It didn’t really matter what they were into — the “Beat ’em up” showdown, long discussions, food, sleep, or hunting for hidden gems. That mutual glow made everything feel special.

[CC19] Valeria Croft – Delusion Pulse Machine

A thunderclap rolled across land as a trembling wave just as Needle and Plate had approached the base of Bouillon Castle. Its only residents turned out to be two bats, completely unaware of why curious humans had come poking around.

— Well, look at them — bold little things! Should we scare them off?
— I thought no one would ever come here but us. Let’s just wait and see.

According to the legend, a mysterious nine-dimensional being lies hidden in the ancestral home of Godfrey IV. Once, merging with the duke himself, it led him to victory in a crusade. They say that if you place your hand on the fortress wall and stare into its darkest corners, you might catch a glimpse of the shadows of the past.

— Let’s get out of here. This place gives me the creeps.
— Wait… turn around. I think someone’s watching us.
— Aaaah! Plate! Don’t do that! It’s just bats!

Lightning kept flickering on the faces of the restless couple until the sky finally cracked open above them in a wall of rain and howling wind. Time to head back to the cozy cottage, brew some tea, and settle in by the fireplace.

[CC20] N'Pot – Keep On That Belov (feat. G-Falex)

Arkady Antsyrev mixes a superb blend of minimalistic house and garage patterns that fills one up with energy and serves as the perfect stimulator to dive into the dynamic vibe of the dancefloor.

"Sleepy Coffee Pot" offers a sonic espresso of avant-garde samples and elegant percussion, awakening the senses and leaving us craving another sip. Highlighted drums and uncompromising bass send the "Don't Stop Moving" pulse to the brain, forcing the body to obey the rhythm and move to the beat. The smoky atmosphere of "The Last Slice of Pizza" combined with hypnotic guitar creates a unique and memorable flavour. With its old-school touch and startling saxophone, Sony Synth's remix fills us with nostalgic charm and jazzy flair, thus extending the limits of musical sophistication.

'Showcase A' delivers a refined collection of four stylish tracks, each crafted by a different artist, yet unified by their high-quality production and distinctiveness.

Opening with Fedo’s 'Tunisian Rex', it immediately strikes you with a sophisticated fusion of house and techno. The track’s smooth, polished sound is anchored by a key bassline, effortlessly guiding the listener through its very enjoyable flow. Following this, Andrey Djackonda & Ovil bring a lively energy with 'Lui Lui'. This song blends upbeat house vibes with playful jazz elements, creating an atmosphere of fun and positive spirit that’s impossible to resist. On the second side, Legit Trip’s 'Skripi Daddy' introduces a deeper, more minimal groove. The track’s busy tech rhythm is skillfully layered with just enough room to then include a melody to elevate it further. Closing the album, Firesc’s 'Left Or Right' offers a techy sound infused with eastern samples. Berlin welcomed them on a cool autumn evening. The narrow streets of Prenzlauer Berg flooded with the warm light of vintage lanterns, led Needle and Plate to a familiar place on Stargarder Street — the Lucky Six Tattoo. Inside was a spirit of creative chaos: posters of various festivals hung on the walls, and a slight smell of paint and coffee lingered in the air.

— Needle! Long time no see! — Daniel exclaimed with a wide smile, hugging her. — How are you?
— I'm fine, — she grinned. — This is Plate, my bro and music partner.
— Nice to meet you, Plate! — Daniel shook his hand.
— Nice to meet you, too. Glad we're finally here. Needle couldn't miss the opportunity to stop by and visit you, — said Plate.
— Yeah, I've been waiting for this moment, — Needle added and lifted her sleeve showing a tattoo: a vinyl record on her shoulder that had become her musical symbol over the years. — I think it's time to freshen it up.
— Of course, I remember that drawing! We did it when you started getting into electronic music and collecting vinyl. Such good times! Well, we'll add a few details to make it look sharper, — Daniel nodded, grinning slightly.

As he got ready for work, they chatted casually. Plate talked about the upcoming party at the bar, whereas Needle shared how she had longed to return to this city, which had always remained her idea of home and associated with the indomitable spirit of freedom.

Playing a set in the techno capital is prestigious, but it can be demanding. Even a roaring crowd may not fully recharge you. But not for Needle and Plate. Spontaneity has always been the hallmark of this unstoppable duo. A few inspiring photos were all it took to book a flight to a neighbouring country. Now they were playing tag hopping from a cobblestone to a cobblestone like those were some tiny islands. Narrow streets guided them through vibrant facades, terraces, bridges, and graffiti walls. A bottle of Soplica in hand meant that this evening was bound to be something special.

Their urban quest eventually came to an end, giving way to the magic of a neon-lit courtyard, and then to a serene riverside view. Warm air, the quacking of ducks, and the laughter of passersby slowed down the time itself. Needle and Plate sat silently watching the city lights ripple across the water. “Sometimes spontaneous decisions bring the best stories,” Needle said softly. Like a rare track played only once, Wrocław would forever remain not just a place, but a feeling.

That young troublemaker sneaks among flower vendors and quiet parks, troubling hearts with sweet confessions. But what if someone falls for something else — like music? That’s exactly why the record store on Giuseppe Verdi exists. Its doors are always open to devoted diggers. Two of them have just arrived. Having hopped inside the vinyl shop, they eagerly started flipping through editions of past decades.

— I can’t wait to spend my whole paycheck on records.
— Hey, we’re saving up for new turntables, Needle!
— I know, I know. By the way, what’s that track playing?
— It’s Tommaso!
— Ah, these Italians! They drive you crazy with their passion.

Being far from home isn’t so bad when the rhythms around you feel like an everlasting home.

The old kettle whistled softly on the stove, doing its best to warm up the soaked guests — adventurers who always managed to get themselves in trouble.

— Now that was a hike to remember!
— We barely outran that monstrous cloud!
— No kidding. I wonder if the gramophone still works?

The crackling fire and creaking floorboards embodied the very idea of comfort. This was the house where Needle had spent every summer since her childhood. It felt like not much had changed since then. Everything still held the presence of her beloved grandmother. She had passed away a year ago, but the portrait of her hugging her little granddaughter still filled the space with warmth and glee.

— Let’s bake a pie. We just need to check the recipe on YouTube.
— Ha! Dream on. Forget about the internet — we’re doing this from memory!

After midnight, the baking began: they dusted their cheeks with flour, stuck bits of parchment to their foreheads, and told ghost stories. At last, they had their chance to be a true duke and duchess — far from the noise of everyday life.
