Hello? Is this thing on? Good, welcome to a brand new beginning! Starting today, I will do my best to release 1 new minute of music every week. I want to become a better musician and the best method I know is by simply doing. So why not make it public? Let these weekly posts tell a story of my journey. I just hope you'll enjoy the results enough to follow along if you wish.

WMM - 001 [Eldest]

Back at it again this week with another simple track. I moved up to 6 tracks this week instead of 4 to hopefully add a bit more texture, but I kind of just used them to space out the main theme of the music. I obviously still have a lot of work to do, but it's all part of the game of improvement. I might move back to 4 tracks again for awhile to simply get better at utilizing the sound channels more effectively, but we'll see.

WMM - 002 [Glaring Memetics]

Sorry for being a bit late this week, didn't expect some life stuff to get in the way. Anyways, this week I somehow came up with some really weird wave-forms with a nice bit of Low-pass filtering. How I did that? I do not know, but I like it!

WMM - 003 [Bykel Flashpoint]

This is another 6 channel song. ironic how I keep switching back and forth. It's a bit of a simpler song this time with the entire percussion section split into their own channels. I figured I'd try it out, but I'm not a fan of wasting so many channels on percussion alone. (even if I technically have infinite)

Otherwise, I wanted to try out some basic Low-pass filtering in this one a bit as well which I am definitely going to have to try to use more in the future. Overall, the piece this week is a bit simple, but I really like the groove!

WMM - 004 [K'nierom Variations]

I've tried to be better working with Arpeggios in chiptune music for quite awhile now. I don't know why, but I've always struggled with them specifically. This so far is one of the few tracks I've managed to cobble together that actually uses them well. I hope you enjoy! 

I'll be sure to try and practice it more in the future if I remember to, and maybe get a few more songs that help me improve with my Arps. (Don't count on it though with how haphazard my thought process is.)

WMM - 005 [Inverse Sphere 1177]

This track is actually somewhat inspired by 1-bit games I've seen all around both by a few developers I follow as well as more major players like Gato Roboto. I've always liked the stylization and wanted to try making a song with only 2 real instrument types. Percussion and a Saw wave. It's definitely a bit basic, but I do quite enjoy the way it sounds! 

Hopefully I can pull up with something else inspired by the retro games of old next week too! See you then. 

WMM - 006 [Empty Thoughts of Monochrome]

Sorry about being a day late on this one. It was a bit of a struggle to get the second half of this one done. I'm still not entirely happy with it and might revisit a variation of it in the future, but I've gotten it to a state I can at least post. 

Again, Klystrack has an interesting way of leading me into strange and non-conventional wave forms that don't really fit any singular console, but they're still fun to work with all the same. I might start looking into using alternative software though that is more faithful to the sound-chips of old.

WMM - 007 [Immortal Lozof Cavern]

A much simpler track this week for everyone. I wanted to utilize the triangle wave on the upper end a bit more as I really enjoyed the crystal clear sound of it, although the program I use seemed to be a bit fussy with it. 

The clicking sound throughout the piece is a result of the program not dealing with triangle waves too well, but I'll consider it an interesting artifact instead of a bad thing. Hopefully you like it!

WMM - 008 [Calmly De-sinking]

Wait what was I doing here again? Ah right! I'm a chiptune composer using this to improve my music skills. Check in weekly for 1 minute of new music!
