Chad Andrew's musical journey spans over a decade long & showcases unwavering dedication and a diverse sonic palette. Drawing from influences such as hip-hop, classical, disco, rock, and 80s music, he seamlessly blends dark, minimal beats with infectious house grooves, With residencies at esteemed venues like Club Der Visionaere and Ibiza Underground, and regular performances at global festivals such as Sunwaves, BPM, Sonar, and ADE.

Chad has become a revered figure in the electronic music scene. His wealth of knowledge, tools, and experience allows him to push boundaries and deliver memorable musical Journeys to his dedicated listeners, solidifying his status as a standout artist in the ever-evolving landscape of electronic music.

In 2024 Chad is only becoming more and more prominent in the underground house & minimal scene w/ 2 very successful vinyl only labels such as Coast2Coast, Retrospect & his new project SCOVILLE Records which we will see come to fruition in the coming months!

1. What was a scorching moment on the dance floor that made you fall in love with Electronic music?

My relationship with electronic music began long before I ever set foot into a club so I guess I can tell you about a More recent moment that made me fall even deeper in love. One particular moment stands out vividly in my memory and that was Fumiya Tanaka's set at UN_MUTE's Perlon party Art Basel 2022. Complete masterclass and still to this day is one of my favorite sets from the last years that has truly re inspired me.

2. Do you like the combination of chocolate and spice?

YES! IT'S ACTUALLY IT'S ONE OF THE BEST COMBINATIONS BECAUSE OF THE CONTRAST OF FLAVORS AND SENSATION.
AT FIRST BITE YOU GET SWEET RICHNESS OF THE CHOCOLATE AND THEN COMES THE HEAT FROM THE CHILI ADDING DEPTH WITH A SOME TINGLE ON THE TASTE BUDS. THE CHOCOLATE'S SWEETNESS TAMES THE CHILI'S HEAT, CREATING A WELL-ROUNDED COMBINATION OF FLAVORS.

  3. What’s your favorite hot sauce at the moment? 

TOO MANY TO NAME BUT IF I HAD TO CHOOSE ONE RIGHT NOW IT WOULD BE LION'S MANE PIRI PIRI FROM THE HEARTBEAT HOT SAUCE COMPANY, IT'S ONE OF THE MOST ADDICTING
SAUCES OUT THERE.

The demure appearance of Romanian artist Praslea belies his deep involvement in the music industry. With his name appearing on top events, especially in his home town of Bucharest, circa 2007, Florin Cunțan is a certified don of our scene. Having been inducted into the [a:pia:r] clique from an early age his “Jurnal De Bord” EP way back in 2009 he has hardly been prolific, but this is not where his real talent lies. With his solo credentials above reproach, it is par for the course for Praslea and his peers to perform together even at the biggest of events. So, it is hardly surprising that two artists from this family should join forces on the regular and that partnership is Praslesh. Not wishing to over comment on this duo, this does, however, go some way to explain the level of skill that Florin commands. For our debut we've prepared a special edition fitting not one, but two artists altogether.
This is a live recording from a certain event that took place at The Black Sea coast not long ago (yes, that special festival we all love), featuring a b2b set from Barac, half of NoiDoi duo project and his partner in crime in recent times, Herodot.
It's one of the few recordings (if not the first) on the web under the Barac moniker, probably the best kept gem of the Romanian scene at this point. And these two guys go along so well, as if they were a match made in heaven.

As gifted on the decks as he is in the studio, CHKLTE approaches music with a delicateness that defies his towering stature. With vibrant, seductive blooms and deep, syrupy booms, his subtleties climb into the ear like tendrils. Jonathan began sneaking into South Texas clubs at the age of 15 to DJ after countless hours of digging through online archives.

In 2012, he became a resident of Austin TX and quickly became a regular guest DJ across the state. CHKLTE is now a resident DJ behind the infamous Blacktone agency & party series that sparked out of Austin Texas, which regularly hosts the likes of Dyed Soundorom, Nicolas Lutz, Francesco Del Garda, tINI, Raresh, Praslea , Lamache and Robin Ordell.

The move from Jonathan to CHKLTE spurred a series of releases on labels such as OGE, We R The Aliens, Personality Disorder, Vatos Locos, Solid Grooves Raw, Moonfruit, Floorpiece Digital, Melotherapy and Honne Music to name a few. He has also launched 2 labels in recent years, a vinyl format label; CHOKO, and ChokoDIGI - a digital label exclusively through bandcamp, where you can find personal edits & originals.

CHKLTE is now based between Ibiza & the US and can often be found controlling the dance floors of Fabric London, Hi Ibiza, DC-10 Ibiza, Sunwaves Festival in Romania, Epizode & UNUM festivals in Albania, ADE in Amsterdam, Club der Visionaere, as well as Mexico, Canada, London, Czech Republic & Bulgaria. He can be often found on lineups alongside Ricardo Villalobos, Raresh, Dyed Soundorom, Gescu, The Martinez Brothers, Voigtmann, Nu Zau, tINI, Herodot, Priku, Afriqua & many more.
