Upfull Melody is the first single from a forthcoming LP by a collective of musicians called Guiding Star Orchestra based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The track and the album was recorded in the summer of 2016 completely without the use of digital technology. The mix was then done from multitrack 2 inch tape to ¼ tape, and the mastering from ¼ tape to ½ tape. When you record without the possibility of post-editing and cutting, you have to focus on the most important thing – which is the vibe. This has been the philosophy of the recording sessions. Upfull Melody is offered in respect of the strong roots and culture scene, and it is our wish that it can also be used for Soundsystem dances that focuses on a strong positive meditation.

Back in 2007/2008 I was living in NYC and made many friends that I still am in contact to this day.  Blaqstarr was always super cool to hang out with and he worked with me on a track on my second LP called "art, science, love."  Here is a dub we made from a Tom Waits cover Blaqstarr did with M.I.A.  I made the tune with my good friend Young Aundee and Doctor Echo did all of the final touches in the mix.  I hope you enjoy.  This has been sitting on a hard drive for 12 years and now it can finally see the light haha.

Disconnected, But Connected (feat. Ane Trolle) is the first single from the group Finds Them And Thrills Them.  Tyler Pope of LCD Soundsystem and Steven Jess Borth II (CHLLNGR) combine forces alongside Danish synth wiz Anders Dixen and drummer/producer Stunn Gunn to create dub influenced dance music that combines live horns, percussion and vintage analog and modular synths creating heavy and epic tunes for the dance floor.  Ane Trolle joins them for Disconnected, But Connected adding her charming melodies over science fictions landscapes.

Unified by dub's loose sense of space and deep sub-frequencies, CHLLNGR's unique amalgam of soul, pop, stripped-down beats, and decaying atmospheres has earned the Copenhagen-based artist, Steven Jess Borth II, adulation from press and peers alike. The nocturnal, murky worlds of his debut 'Haven' and it's follow-up EP 'Datter' alluded to subtle pop possibilities featuring Borth's soft-touch vocals woven into structures indebted to modern R&B's sleek minimalism and the techniques set forth by dub reggae's chief architects King Tubby, Scientist, among countless other legends. An artist who shines in the collaborative process, Borth's acclaimed debut 'Haven' featured Coco (of Quadron), Aku (of Dragons of Zynth), Teachers, and he has been a consistent cohort of South African MC Spoek Mathambo partnering in composing, production, and touring as Mathambo's multi-instrumentalist secret weapon over the past few years.

Over the past year, CHLLNGR has been working on his next full-length for the LA-based Time No Place label. Recorded at the newly built Red Bull Studios in Copenhagen, Borth took a different approach by recording most of the new record at a legitimate studio as opposed to his previous DIY methods. Again, a collaborative effort: the new album features contributions from up-and-coming vocalist JOSIAHWISE IS THE SERPENTWITHFEET, Grace Hall of Skin Town, Doctor Echo, Dusty Brown and the UK based-MC Dels. Keeping much CHLLNGR's signature moody starkness, his forthcoming LP strives for brave eclecticism, digging deeper into his future-minded soul music explorations.
