Clotur, Tunisian DJ and producer based in Paris is the guest of our 201th podcast. Clotur started DJ-ing in 2010, and first released in 2016, building a name for himself in the techno scene. He since has numerous releases on his name on labels such as K S R, Artaphine, Counterchange, Hayes, Blocaus and his own label Warok. Clotur his music is inspired from ambient and drone, and mixes deep atmospheres with groovy baselines.

This mix features features carefully placed tech-y elements, touches of playful sounddesign and the occasional non-obvious melody.

From London’s inner suburbs comes this next guest, a through and through veteran of UK techno whose touch has left a lasting mark on the world around him. Steve Bicknell’s early days were spent in the intoxicating worlds of dub, reggae, acid, DIY warehouse parties and pirate radio, an auspicious mix of references that would inspire him to make music of his own. After a string of residencies at the UK’s then most influential parties, he launched his own series with creative collaborator Sheree Rashit: LOST. These legendary gatherings brought together names like Plaid, Jeff Mills, Juan Atkins, Robert Leiner, Basic Channel, and a wider array of future techno hegemons. This was swiftly succeeded with the duo’s launch of imprint Cosmic Records, whose triumph went on to spawn another three successors: LOST (early provider of Bicknell’s dancefloor sounds), Clubtracks (for Chicago-leaning fare) and ID(entity) (a channel for the work of well established music-makers who wanted to release under a secret alias). A nine-year pause in productions came to a halt in the mid 2010s with Steve’s most recent label, 6dimensions, an exploration in sound and the whole spectrum of human emotion. Finally, 2017 saw Steve team up with Luke Slater and David Sumner under the LSD sobriquet, a force for the creation of ‘lysergic machine music’, heavily danceable stuff (just ask ADE, Dekmantel, Awakenings). With a story as full and enduring as Steve’s there’s much to pull from, and only experience in the flesh could attest to the depth and scope of his musical evolution, but it’s clear that the voice he has honed has only become louder and more refined. It’s a techno that’s fully embodied, a blistering percussive barrage that invokes something profoundly human and fundamental. Bassiani Podcast 217 is just a taste of what Steve has to offer, a window onto a world of sound he’s meticulously crafted for over three decades: masterfully layered and piercing sounds that shimmer and relentlessly rise in lockstep with a formidable 4/4 beat.

67th podcast hosts @Ksenia_Kamikaza, the founder of UNDER festival and Platz für Tanz label, is one of the main moving forces of rave culture in Latvia. You cannot imagine local showcases of Gegen, Voxnox or Boiler Room without her boundless sets. Spinning records in places like fabric.London, Dommune in Tokyo, Sziget in Budapest or Kit Kat in Berlin, losing herself in music and dust at Burning Man, Ksenia varies from techno to ambient, from dark disco to IDM. She puts listeners on a rhythm and sound journey you cannot leave once you have stepped in.

Domestically originating from a line of musician, Ksenia spent her early years digging deeper into electronic & experimental music completing the collection of ambient, deep house, nu jazz and IDM records. In 2003, that was an inspiration for her to start the INTELLIGENT BEATS radio show still broadcasting on Radio Naba in Riga.

In year 2007 Ksenia founded the Platz für Tanz collective to bring international sound of electronic music to Latvia. Throughout the years, the label has collaborated with Dasha Rush, Paula Temple, Anastasia Kristensen, Kr!z, Claudio PRC, Matrixxman, Bloody Mary, Projekt Gestalten, Answer Code Request, Etapp Kyle and a list of significant artists follows. Ksenia challenges the most unexpected places for her events: trains, airports, libraries and even churches, — proving that techno is not only music, but the true cultural phenomena.

As a music producer Ksenia Kamikaza has released several EPs, in year 2015 coming to her debut album “Japanese Georgians”, which has been true musical experimentation and self-expression: it includes Ksenia’s love and vision of downtempo, IDM, broken beats and techno. The second album “Pirveli Sitkvebi” in collaboration with Georgian artist Antiproject followed in 2022.

In year 2017 Ksenia and a team of true music fans have organized the first electronic music festival called UNDER in Riga. The festival has become a good tradition and is happening annually. It has hosted such names as SLAM, APPARAT, BYETONE, THROWING SNOW, KASPER BJØRKE, dOP, LUIGI TOZZI, SCHWEFELGELB, ARTEFAKT and many more electronic music artists.

 The new beginning came in year 2022: Ksenia has founded two labels, releasing Latvian electronic music only. KĀDAS DOMAS is concentrated on ambient and experimental genres, while TĀDA GAITA is about techno, house and electro music.

Owl (@owlfromdeepspace) is a belgian electronic music producer who started producing under the alias Glÿph with his friend Clearlight and also under the  alias OZOH. In 2013, Owl wanted to expand his musical vision and push the boundaries o his creativity. This led him to delve into new sonic territories, capturing the attention of labels such as Silent Season, Lowless, Muzan, Huinali, DNO, and re:st. His distinctive sound began to resonate within the electronic music community, setting the stage for his continued evolution as an artist. Owl’s aptitude for creating subtle, lush sonic journeys keeps expanding and his last releases should further cement his reputation. The artist’s discography is in perpetual evolution : from dnb, deep techno to a dreamy & melancholy ambient journey.

Today’s Pink Moon carries a gentle magic and is a perfect moment to share something truly special. Aligned with the energy of this lunar phase and her recent EP Pink Noise on Unrush, we couldn't imagine a better time to release Banu’s stunning mix for us.

Born in south-east Turkey, Banu is a DJ, producer, and sound artist who uses music as a political tool - a vehicle to express deep emotion and challenge systems of oppression. Her work sits at the intersection of contemporary art and activism, weaving together participation, social design, ecology, and feminist and queer theory into powerful multimedia installations where sound takes center stage.

This mix is a beautiful reflection of Banu’s multifaceted practice. Blending immersive soundscapes, Downtempo, and exceptional sound design, it’s a sonic journey that speaks to both the personal and the political - featuring some of our favorite artists and sounds we hold close. In a world hooked on instant likes and endless scrolls, where festival lineups are often built for clicks more than for ears, there’s still a place that pushes all that noise into the background. It sits somewhere off the grid, far from signal bars and push notifications, a pocket of the world where music still feels sacred.

You drive for hours into the Spanish mainland, trading highways for dusty roads and the smell of pine. And then you arrive at this gathering that’s not quite a festival. “Celebration” fits better. A celebration of music, connection, good energy and the rare joy of forgetting who’s “headlining” and just letting the sound carry you wherever it wants.

It’s friends, and friends of friends. People whose names you might see on record sleeves or festival flyers, but here they’re just part of the crowd. No green rooms, no special wristbands. No one’s counting bar sales or stressing over ticket numbers. It’s purely about the music, the real reason most of us fell in love with this scene in the first place.

From Friday afternoon to a very late Sunday, the music rolls non-stop. Daytime means dancing upright under blue skies. By night, things stretch into horizontal territory in a magical cabaña, where ambient and experimental sets ripple through the dark. Every DJ seems to arrive knowing precisely what belongs in their timeslot, crafting an arc so seamless you start questioning whether sleep is even worth it. Monday comes for you looking like your parachute didn’t open, but the grin on your face says otherwise. And the moment you leave, you’re already asking yourself how you’re supposed to wait a whole year to do it again.

This hidden corner of paradise is called Perpendicular Festival, or Perpen, for short, a brainchild of the crew behind Espacio Perpendicular in Madrid. 

This year was Delayed’s first time joining the adventure, and we came back determined to share pieces of what made it unforgettable. Over the next months, we’ll be rolling out sets that capture different moods and times of the weekend, hoping to transmit even a fraction of the magic in those woods.

We’re starting with a burst of energy: Madrid’s best-kept secret, Rachael, who took over on Sunday night. By then, the dancefloor was running on adrenaline alone, and as darkness settled in, she shifted things into high gear. After Sciama’s mind-bending trip, Rachael stepped up and commanded the space, unleashing a set where syncopated beats, UK breaks, and halftime, all collided in perfect chaos. The pine trees caught every echo. The crowd surged with new life. It was one of those sets that reminds you why underground music scenes will always survive and why you stay awake just a few hours longer even when your legs are begging for mercy.

Chloe is a resident DJ and releasing artist at Tresor. She's played at Berghain, Boiler Room, Radion, Movement weekend in Detroit, and countless clubs, festivals and parties across Asia, Europe, and, North and South America alongside artists like Kangding Ray, Lewis Fautzi, Helena Hauff and Nastia Reigel, becoming known for atmospheric sets that dig deep into the niche recesses of deep and driving techno. 

Chloe has released on Tresor Records, and she will debut on James Ruskin’s Blueprint and P.E.A.R.L’s label Falling Ethics in autumn 2024. In addition to her career as a DJ and producer, Chloe is a cellist—her debut instrumental full-length came out on James Ginzburg’s Subtext label late lasty year—and the senior producer of Resident Advisor, where she hosts and curates talks and music workshops at festivals like Nuits Sonores, Dekmantel, Unsound, Wire, and many more.
