Deep Breakfast 103 - Inhmost

I always welcome new music, new connections, new friendships that then come along. In this example, a track premiere by Joachim Spieth at the end of last year made me relisten to his works on Wolfgang Voigt’s  Pop Ambient series, taking me to releases on his very own Affin imprint and finally asking him for a mix. In this process, this seemingly random stranger quickly became a musical friend, as we exchanged grand ideas and connected with music. I really appreciated the spectrum of electronic music genres covered on Spieth’s German label and requested that he showcased the output through a traversal of styles. The result is a beautiful 90-minute journey that will take you from soothing to upbeat, through highs and through lows. I’m very happy with how it turned out and honoured to host this showcase on Headphone Commute.

He began his career in 2011. Taking inspiration from the natural surroundings in the suburbs where he grew up, his early music’s major themes were the city and nature. However, his later music tends towards the impersonal, allowing each listener to fit the sounds into the spaces of his or her life, attempting to link the ideas of memory and recollection into his music.

AHOY and WELCOME to SEASIDETRIP no. 68 by Zuurb

Island, das Land der Mythen und Geysire ist derzeit der Ankerplatz für Käpt’n https://soundcloud.com/rolandson und seine Crew. Wir sitzen in den warmen Quellen und lassen zur Abwechslung mal niemanden über die Planke gehen, sondern ihn durch eine Fontäne, der Geysire, in die Luft wirbeln - was ein Spaß. Bei Nacht beobachten wir die Polarlichter und schlendern am Strand längs. Bei einem unserer letzten Landgänge stießen wir auf einen sonderbaren, so noch nie gesehenen Strand - einen mit schwarzem Sand. Wir dachten erst, welch Streich spielt uns Odin denn heute wieder, doch es geschah nichts, keine Dreistigkeit, keine uns bezirzende Nymphe, einfach Nichts. 

Das Einzige was passierte war auditiver Natur, wundervoll entspannte Klänge entspannen sich über den Strand und wogten sich in unsere Ohren. Denn siehe da, in einer der felsigen Buchten hatte Thomas aka https://soundcloud.com/zuurb sein Schiff geankert und vertaut und ließ sich wie wir durch das Land und seine Natur inspirieren. Eurem Käpt’n ist dieser musikalische Wandersmann schon seit längerem bekannt und um so größer könnt ihr euch die Freude vorstellen, als Zuurb einwilligte auf dem Oberdeck der MS Seasidetrip seine Eindrücke wiederzugeben. So entstand diese wundervoll entspannte Stunde Musik, welche euch zu uns holt. Das Meer brandet am schwarzen Strand an und über uns das Firmament, mit seinen Polarlichtern und Sternen. Dazu dieses chill-steppige Set und ein Pfeifchen oder zwei, mit dem Kraut der Halblinge gestopft - so erleben wir entspannt Island. Hört rein, kommt zu uns - habt eine schöne Zeit
