Conscious Listening is a podcast series by Pregnant Void record label that explores soundscapes born from the connection between deep ethereal music and the most advanced electronic musical experiments. 

This month’s Podcast chapter comes from Korean artist, Cobahn. She is musically influenced by Oriental philosophies and awe-inspiring mother nature and combines deep and experimental styles, which she blends into an authentic soundscape.

In this mix she created a journey with ambient soundscapes filled with organic, hypnotic and avant-garde touches. Sit back, close your eyes and listen.

The 32nd vurt podcast features a 2hour journey by French-based techno producer Gëinst. He is one of the heads of the next generation in techno producers and presented a live set at Heterotopia event held at vurt in 2018. Gëinst is an artist with a unique and beautiful feeling, expressing light and shadow, bright and dark at the same time. Journey to the Gëinst’s deep-inside, this episode is made up of songs and sounds that he inspired in recent years.

화산으로 둘러싸인 프랑스 남부의 외딴 마을에서 자란 Gëinst는 주로 자연을 소재로 한 작업을 선보이는 차세대 테크노 프로듀서 중 한 명이다. ARTS에서 발매한 초기 EP Uchronie(2016)가 높은 평가를 받으면서 전자 음악 세계에서 주목받기 시작한 Gëinst는, 곧 Trésor, vurt, Concrete와 같은 유명 클럽들을 비롯한 전 세계의 클럽들에서 자신의 바이브를 펼치기 시작했다.

부드러움과 거침의 조합이 Gëinst의 멜랑꼴리한 마음 상태를 정의하며, 작품에서는 다양한 음악적 정체성을 표현한다. 춤과 음악은 불가분의 관계임을 이해하기 위해 노력해온 Gëinst는, 댄서가 춤을 추는 제스처를 활성시키는 전자음악 특유의 다양한 반복 메커니즘을 통해 밝으면서 동시에 흐릿한 만화경과 같은 자신만의 루프(loop)를 창조하고 있다.

Gëinst is one of the heads in the new generation of techno producers.
Raised in the french countryside, surrounded by volcanos, Gëinst's music project is mainly influenced by nature. 

His entry into the world of electronic music has been highly acclaimed with his initial EP Uchronie released by ARTS which allowed him to spray his vibe around the globe and clubs like Trésor, Vurt or Concrete.

Sweetness and roughness combination define his melancholic state of mind.
Severals music identities under his productions, Gëinst strives to understand the inseparable relationship between dance and music. The different mechanisms of repetition, specific to electronic music, the very ones that activate gesture in the body of the piloted dancer, create this kaleidoscopic loop, bright and blurry at the same time.

@jajaamusic , member of the High Ends label (Berlin, Paris), Matthieu Jeannel alias JAJA has acquired a lot of experience behind the turntables for more than 10 years. He had the opportunity during his residencies to play with Tobias, Andrew James Gustav, The Ghost or even at Zendid parties at the Club der visionaere. Now based in Berlin, he also devotes himself to his other passion, music production.

Laima Adelaide is a producer of electronic music, focusing on deep techno and ambient. She also studies classical composition at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart.
Her inspiration comes from her interest in nature, playing piano and visual art. She performs Livesets with her own music from heavy beats to ambient and modern sound design textures.
Stuttgart, Riga, Prague, Freiburg and Berlin are cities she has played in. Recently she has founded her own label Predawn Records.

Revelation of Sound is pleased to welcome back our good friend Dycide
Dycide is a producer/DJ, professional sound designer and visual artist from Munich/Germany. He is playing piano since he is 5 years old and started producing ambient music as a teenager. He established the Dycide pseudonym in 2014 to release mainly minimalistic deep drum and bass. Slowly he started changing more and more to techno oriented music. Meanwhile he and his close friends established IO, an audiovisual label, focusing on experimental ambient and deep techno and atmospheric artwork. Besides these projects he is working as an interactive sound designer and audio software developer.

Electronic tracks typically channel a specific mood or vibe. They make us feel things…some caress with their warmth; some pound us with their anger and despair; some push us into anxiety; some make us dance and some hypnotize us. It is a select few tracks that manage to be emotive and yet remain ambiguous and mysterious. Dycide's Coincidence is such a track. It starts sparse, dark and hypnotic, with the typical echo-y bassline and plenty of percussive elements…But as soon as your musical eyes get used to the darkness, a floaty melancholic piano line floats in…oh, a touch of melancholy here…And, suddenly, almost happy, floaty pads take over…right along with the same dark and hypnotic bassline and piano that's no longer wallowing its melancholy…If I didn’t know it was the same track, I'd guess it's a skillful DJ mixing several different ideas together..and yet it's one track that manages to glue such different sounds together and throw a nice kaleidoscopic blanket over the listener.
