“If you imagine the waves that can be heard in the sea, the sounds of small sounds are coming from a very long distance and seem to be getting closer and closer, and then the sounds of these different cycles are repeated. "Timbrewave" is a piece of music that imagines different tones moving around with different cycles.”

'Shadows' for clarinet and electronics (2022)

In Carl Jung's psychology, the shadow can be described as the power to embody the aspects of oneself that one could not live out. The shadow often carries a negative connotation, but it is necessary to integrate and develop oneself beyond this negativity. Jung claimed that integrating the shadow into the ego is the path of ego development and self-realization. This concept shares symbolic commonality with the religious notion of the shadow, and the growth and development of individuals involve experiencing the psychological death of an immature self and emerging as a new self.

'Liquid And Wind' for interactive soundscape objects

This project started with the idea of how to imitate the sounds of wind and liquid with the synthesizer and signal process. By using a Gyroscope sensor and OSC signal, the interaction between each device makes comprehensive sounds and gestures that imitate the sounds of liquid and wind.

Choi Yoonjae studied composition and electronic music with Richard Dudas  He is currently enrolled in the Computer Music Composition program at Indiana Jacob School of Music. As a composer, he is influenced by various genres such as contemporary, minimal, and pop music. He is researching ways to artistically utilize computers and digital technology based on his musical ideas, exploring how they can be employed more artistically.
