certain motifs in mind that I string together on the spot, much like beads strung together into a bracelet. So It's not technically all impromptu although mostly extemporaneous

physics shows that a standing wave on a string under tension is an infinite maclaurin series (or fourier transform of integer harmonic number of fundamental frequency: F sub n = n * F fundamental), and the first harmonic series overtone of DO is SOL (the next one is MI), which can explain the harmonies and how they are used.

Which also explains why a perfect fifth sounds hollow and the third actually determines the chord quality: M3 or m3 in music theory. not the fifth since it's essentially an implied overtone already in the harmonic series infinite. 

This also explains why if you want an alto or tenor voice to be more conjunct, just omit the fifth and triple the root! Its' chord quality is the same since the third is still there, and you don't need the fifth, which is an implied overtone (harmonic n=1)
