Congi - Tidal Fragments LP Sampler (Part 2) [Out Now]

Hey there, Gabe here.

I just wanted to speak on what I've been up to with my project. I made a path for my own music with the help of Dem Deya Sound System over the past few years and have made some great friends along the way. This mix embodies my approach when I get to play music out live and I think there is no better way to have you listen to me than in this form. 

I have seen a turn in the scene, where the bad players in the mix are finally being pushed out. I'm thankful that we are collectively looking away from the egomaniacs, and looking deeper into the music. As someone who doesn't see a profession in the sound, I am excited to see that the love is sometimes all we need to push forward.

Be mindful, seek out music that moves you, and look to your friends for inspiration. I promise, that's all you need.

Big thanks to @scarienofficial, @redpeaksound, @bleakwinter, @colorblindmusicgroup, @bhumprecords, all the emerging US sound systems making an impact on the scene, and the endless others that have given me the drive to move forward.

I will follow this mix up with others, ranging in sounds and genres, all presented in my own style. My goal is to play out this music so you can hear me behind the controls, without me even having to say a word. This is for 🫵 YOU 🫵.

"Argo (Arnie) has been a stable member of EA as well as a close friend for as long as the label has been around. One of the original 10.

During COVID in 2019 we started talking to Argo to write an album. Whilst the album work was coming together, unfortunately he suffered the loss of his father.
What happened was the album was actually pencilled to be out in 2020/21. Quickly this spiralled into an artist's well needed escape and Arnaud and I spoke at length about maybe putting his emotions into the music and not thinking of the album. (AT THIS POINT) the Album was off and I truly would of done anything to help Arny out.

Fast forward to June 2022 and Arny sends us 45 tracks wrote from that time Period and asked for us to work on pulling an Album from it. (AT THIS POINT) Album on!

What then followed was 3 months of listening and whittling down the list. I think we had some trillion messages trying to sort this.
Truly this task was the hardest that I think any of us thought about anyones music."

For me, this song holds the emotion of limitless eternal space where we exist free and with ease, while time is gracefully passing us by through mundane, repetitive, everyday actions; thinking, sleeping, moving, breathing, dancing, doubting, existing... the ones we often take for granted, but are the foundation for everything magical and grand that unfolds. Because without these, we wouldn't be able to recognise the glimpses of inexplicable joy or sorrow when they come our way.

Caught up between what is happening internally and externally, allowing ourselves and the inevitably fleeting time, to save the sentiment of all things we've cherished, loved, lost, got excited by, that made us grow, smile, burst into tears or feel ashamed. Ones that made us so passionate and driven... And the others for which we are telling ourselves were not as rare nor special in order to get over them more easily. It's about that space of calm, acceptance and empathy where we can float in the universe of possibilities and hope.

No matter how safe and comfortable that ethereal space is, the song comes to an end, invoking the reminder that there is still a real world out there, waiting on us to step into it courageously and connect with one another...To embrace all the beauty, love, redirection and hardship that it may bring, and to be grateful for it.
