C. H. O. R. D. S. is a safe and fun after school program for young people (ages 12-18) to develop and apply various skills in the arts, more specifically in music. The skill set our students gain through our programs are used in an effort to motivate them to become successful leaders in the community while empowering them with a vocational channel towards their success. C.H.O.R.D.S is comprised of several community figures who stand united to work with youth of all backgrounds with intention to make positive changes in their lives.

Our mission is to provide programs designed to help youth cultivate their talents by giving them the opportunity to explore music and creative arts. C. H. O. R. D. S. ' programs will work in collaboration with local organizations and institutions to create a culture of productivity and community.

￼￼OUR SERVICE Programs


C.H.O.R.D.S provides a series of programs for youth throughout the week (Mon-Fri) and weekend activities (Saturday) to expose students to opportunities outside their immediate environment. Here are a few:
• Music Production - students are taught skills in recording, producing and mastering original music
• Reading & Writing - students are tutored on reading music and creative writing, and encouraged to channel creative methods of expression
• Life Skills - students are encouraged with academic tutoring, college trips and counseling with mentors and peer group leaders
Community

C. H. O. R. D. S. is located in the city of San Bernardino, California which is known as a growing city suffering from severe bankruptcy and school budget cuts. This environment has created less avenues for young children to depend on. Students are in need of after school programs that provide positive opportunities by inspiring students to cultivate their talents and skill sets in the creative arts. San Bernardino is full of youth who are enriched in various talents, it is important the community empowers these individual's to reach their potential and see their bright futures.

Outreach
Providing students an avenue to success includes valuing the community from which the program resides. Students will put on productions throughout the year to present their talents while the facility will host community events and seminars. Outreach programs throughput the year will bring awareness of the program and positive impacts community organizations have.
