From an idea by Eddie Robinson, a collaboration between Chorley Film Society, Chorley And District Arts Association, The Projected Picture Trust, North West Sound Archive and Astley Hall Education.

Introduced by Judy Merry, it was a project carried out in 2001 and 2003 to collect and preserve memories of the golden age of cinema-going in Chorley, Lancashire so that future generations can understand the huge part these cinemas played in everyday lives from the 1920s to the 1980s.
