ChoZn VeSo, is the perfect testament of going through the struggle but coming out a champion. Despite any adversity and opposition in his way, he has never given up on the dream. He has never given up on the Music and the music has never given up on him. He was Born in NY and was a middle child out of seven siblings. He could pretty much be considered the black sheep of the family. Because he was shy and very different from his siblings, he came across as an outcast and a loner. Confined to his own space he would sit in his dark room for hours listening to the radio. From day one music had his back and so he released his deepest thoughts into an art form that he could trust. He began writing poems at 8 years old. Writing served as a way to cope with the loneliness. He can recall one night when he was strongly influenced by 2pac’s song Dear Mama. When asked to further explain this memory he stated, “I remember hearing it on the radio. I memorized the whole song. After that is when I fell in love with hip hop music.” Jas moved to CT at the age of 14 where he made a network of friends that loved to rap. One of them had a karaoke machine so they would record songs on tapes and bring them to school to show everyone. People loved the songs and asked when was the next one going to be released. After that writing became second nature. Jas not only wrote to express himself but to enhance his vocabulary. For him, It was as important as consuming three meals a day. Just like a meal he wrote three songs per day and stored them all into his moms computer. He wrote almost 150 songs in a two year time frame. Just as everything was going great and he began progressing in his music career, something went wrong with his moms computer and somehow all his material was erased. At that point he became discouraged and gave up writing. Now, years later he has found his self writing again. Following the same steps he took before, his musical career is continuing to progress. One of his latest successes was when he entered a contest and had one of his songs played on prime time radio. Although he lost the contest it gave him the fuel he needed for his engine. Soon after, he moved to Sacramento California to try and make his way to L.A to pursue his music career full time. The only thing that got in his way at that point was his drinking problem. After being kicked out by his cousin, Jas would try his luck in Washington state. That path did not end well when he found himself homeless on the street for over a month. But like a true warrior Jas has not allowed life to knock him down. He sought help from his step-dad and a good friend of his who ended up buying him a ticket to the east coast where he now resides. That ticket saved his life. A recovering alcoholic who has built a relationship with God and will always continue to confide in the music.
