Throwback Friday to one of my earliest attempts at writing the so-called 'elevator music'.

Okay, seriously, I love bossa nova music particularly from the writing aspect. You basically combine very simple melodies with clever harmonies. This tune is entirely inspired by Jobim after one day full of checking out his more obscure bossa songs.

Surely I will write more bossa numbers in the future, better ones hopefully when the mood hits. Writing bossa is like playing it; when the chill and the imagery of tranquil palm trees and white sandy beach of Ipanema are not there, you will just rush it.

One More Kiss - JPJ (Rehearsal Version/Radio Edit)

A rather memorable track from the original Ada Apa Dengan Cinta soundtrack rearranged into a jazz piano ballad setup. I modified the soundscape so it sounds like I was playing an old upright piano in the middle of a dilapidated concert hall.

An experiment of sound collage plus a bit of orchestration. All instruments were played by me.

The painting, titled “Geometric Abductions,” is actually made by a twenty-six year old local Santa Fe artist named Miles Toland. He’s currently directing the artist residency program and gallery at Vaayu Vision Collective in Goa, India, which is where you might scope out the impressive mural.
