Once I actually had the samples sorted I actually recorded the main groove for this at a shot on my lil Akai mini pro. I had some samples on the same note but with different textures which ended up sounding quite nice. 

Also I learned to layer (well, I’m learning) slow attack samples with quick ones to get that lovely sharp - smooth contrast that somehow makes things pop and flow at the same time. Mr. Bill is the undisputed master of this. Jeetvak, Tonic (remix), Morko. Just a few of the best examples of this technique. Chefs kiss 🤌

Offset x Tyga Type beat - "Marine" | Trap Rap Instrumental 2025

A live alternate mix of Swagger, using instrumentation from my Yamaha-MX61, backed up by an Akai MPK Plus which has a drum and keyboard sequencer built in. I apologize for it being mono - when my recording situation improves I will upload everything again in stereo. 😅 this is all improvised, so there are some rough edges. But, it is indeeds recorded live.

A strange vision appeared to me once. It seemed to be shaped like a man, but all black. Roundish. Tallish. With two piercing blue eyes gazing at me with seeming expectation. He said his name was Bill. He said he was glad I liked his music. He said if I wanted more I should write it.

Mr. Bill’s insanely gorgeous and catchy music made me realize that any limits I had conceived of simply did not exist. He has blown the secret vault door wide open and just left it off the hinges. It was evidence of alchemy of the most advanced kind I have ever seen. It was inevitable, friends, that I would follow after. That music. It just sounds like home. 😇
