With Eastern Electrics coming this weekend our new podcast comes from the quick rising star Kyle Hall! You will be able to catch the man this Sunday at Eastern Electrics on the secretsundaze ‘Outdoor Switchyard Stage’.

Being born during the second wave of techno from Detroit he studied under some of the greats of his hometown, such as Theo Parrish, Omar-S, Carl Craig, Rick Wilhite and Mike Huckaby. Kyle started producing as everyone does on basic software and found equipment, but not as others he started experimenting at the age of 11! By 2009 Kyle’s name really grew and was banded around internationally by a number of magazines and web pages, due to his ‘Plastik Ambash’ (released on FXHE in 2007), and the radio mix Omar-S created for fabric (which was comprised solely of Kyle’s productions), as well as the distinctive records that started surfacing on his own imprint, Wild Oats, including ‘Worx of Art’, ‘The Perfekt Sin’ and ‘The Dirty Thouz’. Kyle has since landed releases on a number of labels which include Warp Records, Hyperdub, Moods & Grooves, Third Ear, and Objectivity. He has also been hailed by the likes of The New York Times, Spin, Pitchfork, DJ Magazine, Clash and The Fader. His label Wild Oats also continues to grow, "I want the label to represent the shit from Detroit, the feeling that I get when I’m here. A non-corrupted, and not a scene-oriented, feeling of creating music. That feeling of just doing the music that you love without all the frills. Wild Oats is about what works for Kyle Hall, the music that I think is good, filtered through me. It’s my life". Matt created Deepsystems, a party, a radio show and a moniker, which has beamed out endless heartfelt sounds worldwide for many a year, weaving his own story that emits emotion, groove, funk and pure future soul. If you've not heard Matt's music before, i can only say that here is an individual
who will not settle for anything but the very best.
A DJ at the top of his game, with a unique deep style, that favours musicality and substance and in my eyes up there as one of the very best in the world, hands down.

One of my favorite sets is Mochakk’s Cercle performance in Seville, Spain. He opens with ‘Proton Blue’ by Crackazat, a track that instantly hooked me with its elegant groove and immersive atmosphere. 

I had to spice it up by layering an acapella that blends perfectly with the instrumental, creating a groovier and more immersive journey.

Firstly, let me just say a very big thank you to everyone who’s made The Idiots Are Winning such a special party over the last five years, and to Louis & Jake, who first pitched the idea to me as we jumped around on a boat in Petrcane for one of the early Electric Elephant festivals. They did all the hard work & I did my usual and just tipped up last minute with a bag of music.

From its humble beginnings in the basement of Life, to the Dance Tunnel, the Argonaut boat parties in Tisno (for EE - thus coming full circle !) and various one-off spots from Hebden Bridge to Kingsland High Street, our idea for a ‘house party’ style knees up that was the opposite of that serious super-clubbing experience, seemed to really strike a chord with a loyal and completely up for it crowd who joined us for laughs and large portions.

We had so many amazing guest DJ’s join us along the way too, Chez Damier, I:Cube, Gilb’r and Maurice Fulton (my favourite party, although they really have all been brilliant) Luke Solomon & Rob Mello, Crazy P, Ewan Pearson, Pete Herbert, Luke Una (always wrecked the place !), Krysko, Sean Johnston and Karizma to name just a few - people we booked because we knew their record bags were a lot deeper than this week’s promo’s, and who, by and large ’got it’

Some seriously 'off the deep end' (almost literally) Idiots' boat parties across the Adriatic (thanks for having us Electric’s !) were the highlight of our clubbing year.

There are lots of mixes up here already from T.I.A.W, from less in-your-face style warm up sessions, to heads-down, low ceiling Dance Tunnel sets, and finally, this one. 

A wonderful venue in NE London, part loft space, part late night drinking den provided the perfect location to celebrate our 5th and sign off in fine sing-a-long fashion. Lots of Idiots favourites all cobbled together across an evening I’ll remember for a very long time.
