1 - Come Thou Fount

This is an original song I wrote some time ago called "He is Near". It is intended to be a reminder that God's gracious gift of salvation through Christ Jesus will not always be available. Yet, at the same time, to those who have called on the name of the Lord, He is always a close and constant companion with whom we have may have close communion. All instruments and vocals are by Chris Ehrhart. Scripture throughout comes from Psalm 34.

2 - He is Near

One of my favorite Third Day songs is "Your Love, O Lord". Therefore, I decided to put my own stylistic spin on this song. Guitar, mandolin, piano, and vocals by Chris Ehrhart. Paraphrased from Mac Powell: God's love, faithfulness, justice, and righteousness prompt us to stop and worship Him regardless of where we are in life.

3 - Your Love, O Lord

A great hymn I used to sing in church a lot is "At the Cross". It is a humble reminder of my lowliness and the Lord God's greatness. As it is written (I'll paraphrase) in a children's Bible book I read recently, "Jesus was not held by nails. It was love that held Him on the cross." All instuments and vocals by Chris Ehrhart.

4 - At the Cross

Another one of my favorite songs is "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross". I love the additional chorus written by (I believe) Chris Tomlin. For this one, I use an open C tuning on my guitar and added the djembe (still trying to learn how to record the hand drum a bit better). Regardless of who we are, when we look to the cross, it eliminates any entitlement we may feel we have, it decimates any personal vendetta I hold against another, and it rids me of any sense of anything else, but the Lord God is the only One who matters! 5 - When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

The song "Be Unto Your Name" sums up the entirety of the Bible: everything centers around the popularity of God's holy name and nothing else matters. I am a vapor, fading fast, but He is forever, eternal, mighty, and the ruler of all. It brings into perspective my petty problems but the fact that God still cares deeply for me, though I am small indeed in comparison to Him. Piano, penny whistle, and vocals by Chris Ehrhart.

6 - Be Unto Your Name

"The Beautiful Christ" is an original song by Chris Ehrhart focusing on the horrible beauty of Christ's sacrifice. It is both a terrible and wonderful act; terrible in its gruesome, violent, and disgusting necessity and wonderful in that it brings unworthy sinners reconciliation with the God of the universe against whom we have horribly sinned. 8 - -The Beautiful Christ

This song comes straight from Scripture, magnifying God's holiness and my worship of Him. In the end, regardless if I turned to Him or not, we will all bow and confess His holiness and goodness. Scripture included comes from 1 John and includes verses 1 and 3 of the hymn "Holy, Holy, Holy". Sheree Cushing is singing female vocal and Chris Ehrhart provides male vocals as well as guitar (and creepy Scripture reading).
