When he’s not collecting glowworms and growing rare fruits, Catching Flies finds the time to make music - a bass heavy yet melodic mesh of broody electronics and intricate rhythms, containing shades of everything from hip-hop to house, from soul to jazz. He has received radio support from the likes of Giles Peterson, Annie Mac, Lauren Laverne & Huw Stephens. He took his live show on the road as European tour support for electronic-jazz behemoth Bonobo in 2014 and has also toured solo performing both live & DJ sets throughout the UK, Europe and Asia, concluding in late 2015 with a sold out live band performance with Submotion Orchestra at the Barbican Hall.
Catching Flies is back with a mini EP before another release, consisting of two instrumental pieces: Komorebi and Mama’s Wisdom. 'Komorebi' is a word the Japanese use to describe when sunlight filters through the trees & the interplay between the light and the leaves. Mama’s Wisdom was originally heard in Bonobo’s BBC Radio One Essential Mix, and has now been released due to popular demand.

Hailing from Hessen (Germany), Chris Gruber, who lived in Hamburg, left his mark on the Hanseatic city's nightlife in the noughties with his take on deep house in various roles: Whether as resident DJ of the Baalsaal, A&R of the affiliated label, employee of the record store Underground Solution or producer on platforms such as Solomuns Diynamic, Liebe*Detail, Dessous Recordings, Bloop or Drumpoet Community. After touring worldwide on bigger stages, until he met Tim Eder in his old home in 2010. After the first gig together it was clear that both have a very similar view of house music. So followed a return to smaller, intimate clubs with ground level booth and familiar audience. The musical exchange in numerous back-to-back sets finally led to the foundation of their joint label ''Feuilleton'' in 2017, on which Chris now performs under the pseudonym‚ ''Fossar''. He's also releasing his new tracks on "Stólar", his own Label "Feuilleton" and soon a new EP on the Sub-Label of Smallville Records "Fuck Reality".
