The Bourbon of Proof is an emotional song about what happens when someone hides behind a bottle instead of owning the damage they cause. It’s about the excuses, the blame-shifting, the “it wasn’t me, it was the whiskey” routine - and the person on the other side of it who ends up carrying all the hurt. This breaks more people than you know. Leaves a trail of victims in lives. 

I wrote this song for the people who’ve lived through that kind of cycle. The ones who know what it feels like to love someone who refuses to take responsibility, who apologizes to the bottle more than to the person they’re breaking. It’s about the bruises you can’t see, the gaslighting, the “boys will be boys” culture, and the way pain disappears into the background when everyone would rather pretend it’s just the alcohol talking.

This isn’t a drinking song. It’s a truth song. A hard look at someone who keeps pouring instead of changing - and the woman who finally realizes that no amount of proof can clean up the truth he keeps running from.

There is a level of vulnerability here.  All of my songs are written entirely by me - every lyric, melody, chord, and rhythm. The only thing that isn’t me is the voice in the recordings. Until I can, this will have to do. 

I make music the same way I approach everything in life: with intention, curiosity, and a drive to keep learning. After all, I’m just here getting stuff out of my head and off my heart.
