Am vergangenen Sonntag waren die Station Endlos Residents um Casimir von Oettingen, Electronic Elephant und Sonnensysteme am heiligen Strand des Sisyphos zu Gast. Was die Jungs dann dort abgefeuert haben, das lässt sich nur sehr schwer in Worte fassen. In jedem Falle ging ein unglaublicher Spirit durch die feiernde Meute, das war absolut elektrisierend und berauschend zugleich! Ganz großer Sport - Chapeau! Keine Frage also...dieses grandiose Meisterwerk garantiert uns maximalste Unterhaltung und das sicher mehr als nur einmal.

Hamburg isn’t the first city you think off when you consider global hubs for nightlife, but Hamburg has turned out to be the quiet achiever. Recently named as the world's number one city for nightlife, Hamburg has well and truly situated itself as a destination for nocturnal activities. And right in the middle of that is local heroes Adana Twins (btw they aren’t real twins)…

Formed in 2006, Adana Twins was forged through a platform of laid-back hip-hop alongside techno. Their 2012 Exploited Records offering, ‘Strange’ and ‘Everyday’, really showcased their wide-ranging musical upbringing (‘Strange’ was a tribute towards 60’s act The Doors) - and also opened them up to a global audience.   Since then, the duo has been on a production tear, their deep take on house endearing themselves wherever they play.

Of late, they have started to dabble with a more muscular techno sound, point in case the recent outdoor festival-sounding throb of ‘Uncompromising, released earlier this year on fellow Hamburg producer Solomon’s Diynamic imprint (it also spent a fair amount of time on the Beatport charts).

The duo will be heading to Australia and New Zealand over the new year with dates at festivals like Beyond the Valley and Earth just outside of Melbourne, Space Ibiza in Sydney and also Rhythm and Alps in New Zealand. Other dates include the Tiny Dancer NYD event in Melbourne and Revolver Upstairs the week after. Ahead of their arrival the duo took some time to prepare a mix featuring music form acts like Rodriquez Jr, Margot, Denis Horvat, and recent Balance Selections compiler Tim Engelhardt. Prepare yourself for a double injection of deepness from Hamburg’s finest.

3 QUESTIONS to BLADE&BEARD:

Q:  As electronic music is forbidden in Iran - how did you get in touch with the different genres and how did you get the tracks?

A: A friend of us brought the CDs from USA. The name was John Digweed "Kiss 100". There were many versions of "Kiss 100" and when we listened to this sound we just discovered Techno music and we wanted to produce this kind of sound. It was hard at first because we didn't have any education about the Techno music. But after a while it was getting better and better and we produced many tracks. But what a pity, because western music was is still forbidden in our country and we didn't have any Techno label in Iran. On the other hand we didn't have a good internet connection in Iran because everything was filtered, even SoundCloud and many other channels, but we used the proxy to listen to new sound. It was hard because with the proxy our connection was poor, but we didn't have another choice.

Q: From Iran to Europe. When you look back the past 4 years, how would you describe your experiences and impressions? And: how did you manage to bring or at least see your family?

A: Actually we have got a lot of experience and we played at many festivals like Tomorrowland. We never had this kind of festival in our country and everything was new for us because we had to play music for so many people on the dance floor. We can't come back to our country because of the movie and our government sees us as politic people in Iran due to the music and the Electronic Music. We wanted to show to young people there is new sound and you can listen to it, that's why we lost everything, also the possibility to visit our family. 

Q: What are your future plans with Blade&Beard? 

A: Years ago Blade&Beard found new sounds and we are thinking about creating something new. We are working on new EPs and many things more.

Here comes the very first official DJ Set from the location "Fridas Pier" for "United We Stream" - Stuttgart, broadcasted by ARTE Concerts. Who better than Stuttgarts resident Konstantin Sibold is the man to bring out this Kick Off Set for us. 
Starting with a bomb Track by Cinar, an act from Kairo Konstantin is introducing the sound of Fridas Pier with ship sirens and sexy pumping sound structures and deep baselines. Followed by a straight set structure with melodic and progressive influences we are happy to release this fine Set through the Function One Soundsystem at the boat.

Tais atributos também estão presentes no seu trabalho de estúdio, já aprovado e assinado por labels como Egothermia Records (Holanda), Betrib Records e Ballroom Black (Berlim) Compacto Records (Brasil) e Spliced Vinyl Recordings (Canada).
Bervon conhece muito bem seu potencial e tem grandes planos para sua carreira. Ele, que já dividiu o palco com Christian Smith, Shall Ocin e Vinicius Honorio, teve sua track tocada por Wehbba, e se apresentou em clubs como Vibe, Inbox e Universo Paralello — na edição de 20 anos do festival — sonha hoje em levar sua música até à Europa e espalhar seu talento para além das fronteiras brasileiras, carregando consigo seu conhecimento e amor pelo techno.

🗯🗯 Mit welchen Clubs / Kollektiven bist du verbunden und wie ist die Situation bei euch? 🗯🗯

Vor über 10 Jahren bin ich bei den Rotzigen Beatz rein gerutscht und wurde da auch gleich Resident auf den Partys. Ich erinnere mich gerne an unseren legendären Frühklub „Früher ist alles besser“ und an die Anfänge auf der Tanzwüste, die wir jetzt auch schon gefühlt seit Ewigkeiten gestalten. Es ist einfach immer wieder ein Highlight. 

Vor 6 Jahren haben wir dann das Gelände in der Süderstraße 112 bekommen und machen seitdem als Südpol in Hammerbrook immer wieder Remmidemmi.

Als wir unseren Laden im März schließen mussten, haben wir eine Crowdfunding Kampagne umgesetzt und den einen oder anderen Stream bei uns gestartet.

Hier nochmal Props an die Crew und alle Unterstützer, die uns so krass unterstützt haben, dass wir jetzt bis Ende des Jahres erstmal über die Runden kommen.

Ansonsten stecken wir grade viel die Köpfe zusammen um noch mehr Wahnsinn zu produzieren.
