I grew up about 1/2 block from the Nissequague River on the north shore of Long Island, NY.
The River led to the L.I. Sound, directly across from Bridgeport, Connecticut. A Tern Colony & Short Beach separated the River from the Sound. At the edge of this little village were beautiful woods & protected wetlands. It was a really nice place to grow up. I haven't been there in ages, since just after my Mom passed away. This song tries to give a little snapshot of San Remo. I didn't intend for it to be a "Country" song. It just wanted to be that way 🤠

The River (Nissequague)

I started writing this before the Pandemic started. The music came together fairly quickly, but the lyrics....The opening verses were recorded over a year ago & then I got stuck. I finally put in some serious time to finish all the lyrics & new vocals. The song is about writer's block & being away from live performing. Like all my recordings, it's all self-produced. I'm really glad I finished it.
