CDC Issues New Guidance for Fully Vaccinated Travelers

Oakland tenants announced they’re filing 5 separate class action lawsuits in Alameda County Superior Court against the real estate investment firm Mosser and several more suits against other corporate landlords. The suits allege that Mosser has harassed tenants, overcharged them for utilities and maintained substandard conditions at their properties.

Huge Coronavirus Outbreak Takes Hold of East Bay Women's Prison

The San Francisco Department of Police Accountability revealed last night at a Police Commission meeting that they are buried in 9-years-worth Public Records Act requests, and the Commission is considering budget cuts which could slow their progress even further. This comes as the state legislature is considering a new state law, SB 16 that could allow access to more police misconduct records. If approved, police departments would be fined heavily by the state for records that aren’t released in a timely manner.

Cities in the East Bay are working to reform their police departments. Berkeley City Council voted unanimously last night to approve a range of police reforms. In Oakland, racial justice advocates responded to the city’s Taskforce to Reimagine Public Safety recommendations.
