Performed on 20 September 2014 at the Sint-Janskerk in Maastricht, as part of Musica Sacra 2014, by Arne Deforce (cello), RB & Patrick Delges (electronics). The electronic part is here mixed down from the original 8 channels. The score is available as a free pdf download from richardbarrettmusic.com - bear in mind however that the performance was of version 2.3, incorporating a few revisions of details, which has not yet (27 September 2014) been finalised and uploaded.

life-form (2012) for cello and electronics

Originally released in 1992, ‘Tiemo’ is probably the most ‘tuneful’ of Thomas Köner’s legendary triptych (Nunatak, Teimo and Permafrost). With a measured, economic hand (this album again is surprisingly brief given so many other in the genre hitting the hour mark) he has created a record that revels in distance and silence and is not afraid to show the occasional beauty of the underworld.

Continuing from her Conscious Cunt EP released on London’s Houndstooth label, Aïsha Devi’s debut album Of Matter and Spirit sees the Swiss-Nepalese producer and vocalist further her highly personal project.

Here, the conceptual musician and label owner resumes her dark and intricate self-journey, described as both an identity search and spiritual quest challenging our perception of reality and the possibility of alter-invisible dimensions, ‘the disconnection between matter and spirit in our society’.

‘Mazdâ’ is “an ‘R’n’B incantation. It’s about burning the ego and finding inner peace. It's a meta love song.”

Electronic musician and composer Keith Fullerton Whitman performs Ezra Pound Redactions, as part of Damon Krukowski: NOT TO BE PLAYED. The exhibition includes enlarged digital scans from the delaminated master disc of Pound’s 1939 readings. Fullerton processes data from the scans through his analog-modular system to create complex sounds and real-time sonorizations. 

Keith Fullerton Whitman is a musician currently based in Cambridge, MA. Fullerton’s work continues to develop truly “live electronic music," that incorporates an ever-changing hardware-based modular system that allows for a complexity of sounds that had previously only been available via software-solutions. Starting in the mid-1990's while working on a "Music Synthesis" Degree at Boston's Berklee College of Music, Keith began exploring electronic music's many facets, eventually yielding dozens of full length albums, singles, remixes, and compilation appearances for influential labels such as Kranky, Editions Mego,PAN, Planet µ, Carpark, Room40, Amethyst Sunset, Amish, NNA Tapes, No Fun Productions, Agents of Chaos, Arbor, Digitalis Limited, Ekhein, Heavy Tapes, Rare Youth, Root Strata, and many more.
