“Écoute” is a love letter to sound itself a space where the voice withdraws to let the music breathe. This track is a quiet, reverent tribute to the musicians behind the album 1994. Featuring the legendary saxophonist Agogo, the textured bass of Midi14, and the velvet organ of TT Williams, Anissa Boualem lets them take the lead. She whispers only three poetic lines across the entire piece, punctuated by the word “écoute” a call to truly listen, not just hear. This is not a song. It’s a ceremony.
