This piece is the final result of our latest collaboration. This time we have the pleasure of inviting you to travel through time and space, and perhaps we can cross that boundary together.
   The end of the year is a time to visit each other and travel. So this will be a winter journey, in snow and blizzard. Perhaps during sunset or even at night... Either way, the doors of imagination have been opened!
    We hope to drift together in melancholy reverie towards the new year. Thank you for your time, attention and your ongoing support. Happy New Year!!!

WINTER TRIP - w/Surfers Like Us

*** This extended version was not planned, rather, inspiration called for it, and I felt compelled to revisit this piece. I hope you will enjoy this new version. ***

A requiem for my sister Lisa, and 4th movement of a work I have planned to complete as I have time and inspiration for each part of my outline.

The title comes from my daughter, who heard me as I was playing with the initial melodic idea, and said it sounds like a mourning bird.

This piece is best heard through headphones or quality stereo speakers to hear all the details.

Mother huntress

man, the girl was acting crazy
eyes a little hazy
she escaped with her life
looked in the magic mirror
the demon creeping nearer with a ritual knife
drew the blood up through the fountain
scaled the wizard's mountain
and down through the sky
and she gazed a gazeless stare 
that chilled the summer air
and then she waited to die
man, the girl got into motion
and conjured up a potion
and she hid it away
cuz she knew the dude was coming
she couldn't keep running and living this way
she's a mean necromancer
a midnight dancer always getting her way
he's a mean mutilator, a slimy alligator 
come to take you away
crystal balls, enchantments, curses, and portals
damn us all to die or suffer immortal
in her hands the wretched tools for survival:
the commands of dead, unholy revival
man, the girl drank the elixir 
hoping it would fix her
yeah she needed to fight
so she summoned up a skelly
from the depths of hell she cast him out in the night
would the wizard hear him sneakin?
rotten bones a creakin as he entered the lair?
to the girls satisfaction
he fell for the distraction she cast out of thin air
in his claws he held the resurrected
and he saw his final moments reflected
as the girl stood behind the foul wizard
from this world and into hell she delivered
man, the girl she put him down

Rust Cutler has no money, so he only experiments with low-cost synthesizers and no Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). He'd rather have hardware that makes interesting sounds than a decent computer. He never thought he'd have to point out that no artificial intelligence is used in his compositions, but apparently we are now in that world. Rust Cutler strongly believes limitations spark creativity and enjoys creating a melody where perhaps none should exist.  All tracks are single musician, single take recordings with no editing and no processing except onboard effects. Everything you hear is how it sounded at the moment it occurred, then posted under the name, Dancing With Tea. Rust Cutler hopes you enjoy these experiments.
