2023 continues being chaotic for me into April...which is why I'm once again a week late on this Frontiers episode. That said, the extra time gave me a chance to try out some new techniques in the mix, so there are more cuts, more effects, and an even smoother intro and outro than normal. Jon Towell arrives on Hexagonal with his uplifting and hypnotic Progressive House blend to present the "Trancoso" EP. As an artist with an innate understanding of the dancefloor, Jon delivers the EP titled opener 'Trancoso' with soaring basslines, crispy drums, and rolling synths that enthrall you into the breakdown. Once there, the growling bass drones keep you on tenterhooks until the epic drop. There and Back' continues the theme of the EP with drums that entice you from the start before the stabby basslines and accompanying synths build to a delicious breakdown with vocal glitches working in sync with beautiful arps. Again, Jon delivers an epic drop that will delight the dancefloor. Finally, 'Conclusion' glues the EP with a sumptuous rolling bassline, glitchy vocals, moving FX, and dreamy synths. A track of reflection is a combined workout for the body and mind. Trancoso EP is a massive triple-header that is as relentless as much as it is a showcase of Jon's progressive prowess. As a DJ, Stoffa has made his mark on the Wellington dance scene, playing Wellington bars and clubs and parties in strange places since the early 2000’s.

He was a founding member of The Matrix Crew putting on their own multi room parties at The Phoenix night club. They also ran a monthly club night “Twisted?”

His genre bending track selection combined with an immediate connection with the crowd made him a middle room favourite.

Stoffa has supported International Djs such as Anthony Pappa, Sander Kleinenberg, Lee Burridge and played gigs at Studio 9, Sandwiches, Phoenix, The Gathering and many more.

After a 10 year hiatus he’s been back playing The Taniwhas Den and Sinphonic Events parties in Wellington and armed with all new Melodic Techno and Deep Tech and is bringing back that old school Wellington Prog Sound
