His career has evolved and stayed true to the shifting sands of the game; he stood out when he arrived on the scene because of his jaw-dropping technical savvy, and as the years have progressed he's added the multi-faceted strings of club promoter, label owner and deftly talented producer to his bow. 'Beg' is a powerful, driving, groove-led club excursion which harnesses the passion and energy Yousef injects into both his live sets and his productions. Sleek and frenetic with delicate touches of melody and husky vocal interjections, 'Beg' has been a staple record for Yousef over the last few months and continues to do serious damage on the dancefloor. On the remix front, burgeoning UK producer Hot Since 82 delivers a truly exceptional reworking. Since breaking onto the scene with his Hot Jams Vol.1 on Noir Music earlier in the year he has continued to impress, and this remix is typical of his production style. Creepingly enticing atmospherics are backed up with hefty amounts of low-end thump for an effortlessly chic reinterpretation of the original record.

The man behind Circus recordings delivers another poignantly penned vocal cut with the follow up to 'Beg', featuring the soothing and heartfelt vocals of Alexander East. Set against a backdrop of melodic and melancholic synths, the down tempo percussion and intermittent nostalgic piano loop cleverly compliment the self reflective lyrics, helping Yousef tell his emotive story of hope and self esteem. This is another sophisticated, multifaceted cut, designed just as much for the dance floor as it is a genuine narrative, once again exemplifying his intelligent and refined production skills.

In stark contrast the Catz 'n Dogz remix couldn't be any further from the original, the vocal having been stripped away leaving it devoid of its former emotion. Instead the intricate fusion of percussive sounds and experimental patterning of breakdowns, coupled with a thumping 'in yer face' bass line and low end reverberating synths, make it an ideal track for getting down and dirty. To complete the package is Fred Everything's Lazy Vox Remix is a more obvious and straight up club ready reworking of the original with its up tempo rhythms, dynamic bassline and chopped up vocals. And with Fred Everything's Lazy Dub thrown in for good measure this is, in short, a perfect party package.

Smash TV released their debut Get Physical album last spring, and since then the remixes have been pouring in. This batch of remixes comes from Yousef, DJ Linus, Alland Byallo and a Smash TV 'Bareknuckles Edit'. The Yousef remix sets a deeper tone with thick chords and bustling percussion. The 'Bareknuckles Edit' sends a retro vibe and raises the energy quite a bit, making it perfect for the floor. DJ Linus takes a bouncing bass line and build on top of that, creating a dynamic range of sound and energy while Alland Byallo throws the grime and dirt into the mix and makes a heavy track thats delightfully rough around the edges. ‘Gone Too Long’ from rising duo Him_Self_Her is a bonafide bomb - house with feeling and a massive bassline and killer vocal from Kieran Fowkes. Reinvigorated by Crosstown Rebels for a re-release after it came out on Mexican label Cream Couture last year, this time the infectious original comes backed with remixes from Belgian hero Compuphonic, who injects more bounce, bleeps and emotive melody and the mighty Yousef who’s darker ‘Circus Rework’ is a deep affair of rolling drums and dubby textures.

Dynamic duo Him_Self_Her is the astute combination of Claire and Leon who came together after honing individual skills for many years on their local scene in Leicester. All that it took was one studio session to realise the potency of their union and their genre blending productions are showing no bounds - ranging from deep grooves to disco infused techno. ‘Gone Too Long’ was originally released in 2012 and championed by Pete Tong (Essential New Tune) and supported by the likes of Jamie Jones. Damian Lazarus has now signed the duo and along with this re-release there is more to come on the label and the duo also have their debut album in the works.

One of the youngest DJs on the Belgian DJ circuit, Maxime Firket aka Compuphonic broke onto the international scene with a release on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings. Further releases have dropped on highly acclaimed labels including Modular, Darkroom Dubs, Systematic Recordings, 2020 Vision and Parquet Recordings.

Yousef is a mainstay of UK house music. With a career spanning over ten years, the heavyweight DJ / Producer and Promoter founded Circus Recordings and events and has appeared on some of the most revered and respected labels in the business - Carl Cox’s Intec, Nick Curly’s Cecille, Saved and of course Sven Vath’s Cocoon Recordings - which released ‘Come Home’, Yousef’s stunning Piece de Resistance.

Leftroom Ltd employ some crafty A&R and licensing skills and are set to re-release Land Shark’s classic, ‘Tie Me Up’, alongside Chicken Lips’ original remixes and new versions from Yousef and PBR Streetgang.

Originally released on Coco Machete in 2003 before being snapped up by PIAS and augmented with remixes from Andy Meecham and Dean Meredith aka Chicken Lips, ‘Tie Me Up’ quickly became an underground hit. A long time fan of the originals and Chicken Lips Remixes, Leftroom’s A&R Matt Tolfrey has spent the past few years securing a license for the release.
