A complete amateur just enjoying himself.
Making a deliberate departure from the perfectionism that has paralysed me in the past. Trying to adopt a one-and-done policy on recording tracks, even if there are missed strums or bum notes. I start with the guitar or piano then add MIDI bass and drums. The vocals I record sitting in the car straight onto the phone, hence you can hear the car’s engine at times. Some notable influences are Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Incubus, Radiohead and Ben Folds, but I also love electronica, house, hip hop, R&B and pop.
