Novy Mir - 25

This mix is heavily inspired by some of my favourite artists so far this year. I have drawn a lot of inspiration from the likes of Skrillex, Four Tet and Fred Again’s Coachella Set. Not being afraid to play a variety of music you would not commonly hear on a regular set. I produced specially for this an intro to 
build tension and abience, I use extended and repeating loops and a bit of pitch lay to keep things interesting and you guessing.  The last segment is a homage to seeing Horsegirl at Phonox who played a mixture of fast pace EDM and Dark Techno.

A pillar of the Danish underground, Markovela has crafted an enviable position in a scene that only comes with having countless locked-in dancefloor moments under his belt. Moving the Scandinavian scene on a glacial level, few have had the level of input into the musical landscape than this next level digger. Cherishing his domestic scene as if an extension of his own flesh and blood, Markovela pours love and affection on the dancefloor with each passing transition and the connection that is established could not be more heartfelt. 

Throughout the full run time of this mix the thread of emotion could not be more cohesive. From slick, stripped back grooves courtesy of Audio Werner to uplifting gems that will rarely see the light of day outside his own record bag. Segueing from mood to mood with an ease that is difficult to comprehend at times, but that is not for you to worry about. Leave that Markovela.

I'm no stranger to a rotary having owned a Urei 1620 for a number of years but I do love my effects! So I was super excited to put this one through its paces. 

The mix gets a little hairy at times as I was really trying to push the mixer to its limits, slow blends, quick cuts, send effects, filter sweeps, trying all the isolator settings, I did it all! haha 

So sit back crack open a cold one or light it up as we go on a journey into sound with the new Euphonia. Shot at The Hub Ibiza Studios in Ibiza Peace!
