When Sadness Still Comes (MORD)

This mix is made specifically for Chakra meditation. The tracks have been selected for their resonance with, or between, our body's primary energy centres - Chakra's. The journey starts out with Modv's Mayfield Pt.2 low frequency textures to awaken our Muladhara (at the base of spine) before moving through 11 more tracks that snake and expand their way through the Svadhishthana (root of our sexual organs), Manipura (solar plexus), Anahata (heart), Vishuddha (throat), Ajna (third eye), culminating at the Sahasrara (crown) with Fook Yue's Uncanny Valley. It's a 67 minute journey and its designed to guide a Chakra meditation in both a lying down position or through dancing.

Mayfield

This is the second mix in an ongoing series that explore how hypnotic electronic music can focus on, and open, our Chakra energy centres. The mix starts with new work by Artefakt to expand our root chakra (Muladhara) and makes its way to our crown by the time we reach Smoley's Eleos. In comparison to the first mix in this series, this journey is more metallic and emotional. The lower Charkras are activated through a gurgling and somewhat tough sensibility to awaken the spaciousness of our Heart Chakra (Anahata). This moment marks the mixes potentially most blissful moment, in the form of Joachim Spieth's Astral Plane, followed by Spieth's collaboration with Reggy Van Ours, Cirrus, before a long stint of extended concentration guides us through our throat (Vishuddha)and Third Eye(Ajna). We land in grace, albeit a little weary, at our Crown (Sahasrara) only in the latter half of Smoley's Eleos, the mixes final track..

Olympic Pool Maintenance League (OPML) was born in Invercargill, New Zealand and produces electronic experimental, ambient, hypnotic, broken beat and techno music. OPML has released on numerous national and international labels including Mord (Bareknuckle Boxing Vols. 1-3, Herdersamt Box Set 34-40), Postdynamic (New Faces Vol. 1+2), Natura Viva (Tornado), Sunora (The Warp Order LP, Dawn Wind, Fook Yue Remixes), Occultech (Pipe Dreams EP), and Brisbane's Pocketmoth (The Calming Cloud).

OPML operates Maintenance League Records, a platform for the artist and a small selection of producers to release dance-floor and experimental productions.

The artists debut vinyl EP was released through Diffuse Reality in 2023 and features remixes by Giorgio Gigli and Head Front Panel. 

Olympic Pool Maintenance League has performed live in Australia at Sub Rosa, Caesars Nightclub, The Station, The Cave, The Walls Art Space, KEPK Art Space, Tweed River Regional Gallery and Grafton Regional Gallery. OPML live sets combine its music with video art developed by artist Chris Bennie. The League is currently based in Brisbane, Australia.
