Gregor Tresher kicks off 2015 looking to break new soil with his first ever full release for John Digweed's Bedrock Records.   

Last year was as hectic as ever for the Gregor and he came into it on high from the success of his artist album Nightcolours and having closed out 2013 by releasing an astonishing Laurent Garnier remix of the title track, on his own imprint.   Time to relax a little maybe? Not a chance. January saw the remixed version of the album hit the stores and this was backed within a few weeks by 'Taurus', Gregor's enticing collaboration with Petar Dundov. The summer saw him remix the Chymera classic 'Shadowdancer' and he closed 2014 with the superb 'Midas / Disturber' double-header.   

Somewhat of a musical chameleon, Tresher is as at home creating deeper shades of house for the likes of Moon Harbour and Ovum as he is techno rhythms for Music Man, Cocoon and Drumcode.   With label boss Digweed a huge fan, Bedrock is yet another perfect fit for the German and he opens his account with the mighty, melodic and Kraken'esque 'Goliath' and the razor-sharp lightning bolt that is 'Stormblade'.

The influential Marginalia label is back with more sonic brilliance, this time from Latteo with featured guest D'aria and stand out remixes from James Harcourt and Yet More.

Latteo's 'Easy To Please' features D’aria, a Berlin-based alt-pop and frequent collaborator with Latteo who straddles the line between confessional fragility and filthy personality all while blurring lines between traditional songwriting and electronic music. 

Their single is a smooth rolling cut with organic, tender piano chords draped over the beast. The angelic vocals swirl up top to bring shivers down the spine as this captivating electronic sound casts its magic spell.

Timmo follows up his debut Drumcode release ‘We Beat On’ with a brand new 4-tracker packed to the rafters with his own unique blend of techno. His productions are getting plays from the likes of Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati and Richie Hawtin amongst others; 2017 is set to be his biggest year yet. 

Timmo’s unique sound has captured the eyes and ears of many highly revered techno DJs around the world and his ‘System’ release is a stark reminder of exactly why this is. ‘Intensify’ is a big room record that is set to do some real damage on dance floors worldwide. This peak time tool thumps through 7 minutes of power, dragging you in and throwing you out the other side as the track rolls on. 
‘The Maze’ is an example of his excellent production, with his use of synths on a level that some producers take years to hone. ‘System’ is a haunting track, authentic four-to-the-floor techno that screams in to top gear right from the off. The release closes with the more groove and bass line laden ‘Together’. One of those tracks that is guaranteed to get stuck in your head…

On the back of their critically acclaimed ‘Oblivion’ EP, from which ‘Sensation’ was named one of the techno tracks of 2016 by Mixmag, Monika Kruse rejoins her brothers-from-another-mother Pig&Dan for another electrifying two-track EP.

Both tracks – ‘Get Me On’ and ‘So Good’ featured in her celebrated debut Essential Mix that aired on April 1 and have highlighted the iconic techno artist’s sets over the past month,  everywhere from Time Warp to her wildly popular b2b with Andrea Oliva at Boiler Room Madrid in March. 

Produced during an inspired couple of days in Mallorca with Pig&Dan in January, both records are explosive techno weapons built for the peaktime and propelled by a stunning warehouse stomp. ‘Get Me On’ is a driving affair from the outset, powered by a compelling mainroom groove that’s gradually immersed in exhilarating cyclone swirls of melody. ‘So Good’ is as delectable as its name, characterized by a roaring buildup that’s drawn out dramatically for much of its 8-minute running time, working in tandem with several carefully deployed breakdowns. Both records are destined to leave a devastating impact at festivals over the summer.

Drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer’s brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world’s number one techno label. 

2017 is no exception, with Beyer’s imprint hosting it’s first stage at Tomorrowland, not to mention the expansion of the critically acclaimed Junction 2 where the Drumcode stage is the centrepiece and Adam plays the key role of festival director. The Drumcode phenomenon continues to grow each week, chiefly fuelled by Drumcode Radio, Adam’s radio show that’s broadcast in 57 countries via 86 stations and to a global audience of 16 million techno fans per week. 

The A-Sides series acts as a perfect vignette of Drumcode’s cutting-edge sound; functional yet inspired techno, all tracks tried and tested by Beyer himself. Vol. 6 continues this tradition with a collection of 16 multi-faceted cuts from a mixture of both emerging artists and experienced label friends. 

The heart-throbbing bass in Amelie Lens’ electrifying piece ‘In Silence’ sets the tone for the dark and dance-floor-ready energy that Vol.6 carries the whole way through. Other standouts include Mars Bill’s rough’n’ready ‘Mohave’. Pulsating and precise, ‘Mohave’ has highlighted many of Beyer’s sets recently as has Wehbba’s monster track ‘Fake’, which fans have been anticipating the release of all year. 

Label-favourites Dense & Pika also feature on ‘A-Sides’ Vol. 6 with their hard-hitting ‘Just a Beat’ and a huge track from Beyer himself who has joined forces with Enrico Sangiuliano to bring us their undeniably infectious ‘Preset Heaven’. 

With many more notable selections from the likes of Julian Jewell, Timmo, Tiger Stripes and Pig&Dan, A-Sides Vol. 6 is another impressive addition to the label’s prolific release roster and a testament to why Drumcode remains at the forefront of the electronic world.

Tiger Stripes follows up ‘Baby’ with a quintuplet of aces on Drumcode.

Death, taxes and Tiger Stripes crafting dancefloor weapons for Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and Truesoul labels. Not many things in life are certain, but we’ve always counted on Mikael Nordgren knocking it out of the park. Last year’s ‘Baby’ EP was a label highlight, while in March he released ‘Sneaking Hotdogs Into People’s Pocket’, which mined the spirit of ‘90s-drenched euphoria and was a standout on Truesoul. Now he’s back dropping heat on DC.

Taking the retro vibes of Hotdogs into more techno-orientated territory, he bunkered down with his family in the Swedish forest, setting up a makeshift studio in the kitchen. From this, the five-track ‘Into Desolation’ was born. Beginning with ‘Recluse’, it combines steely bass rumbles with old skool stabs and a heady vocal from Mikaela Rahmqvist. ‘Basshunter’ is propelled by galloping bass and a catchy undulating melodic loop and is brilliant in its effective simplicity. ‘Into The Early Night’ is a pearl, comprising deep compression-heavy bass stabs, perky percussion and a rousing vocal, making it a winner at festivals so far this summer, including Awakenings. ‘Ignition’ fires on all cylinders with a wicked arpeggiated hook and pounding drums. ‘Ride’ is a nostalgic nod to the past as trance-inspired chords marry deliciously with crunchy future-focused techno.
