A new name appeared in the electronic musician Sky in Zürich. JJ is Dutch with Turkish roots and has been living in Switzerland for several years. About Techno originally, under her techno alias "Jesska", fate had it so that in the autumn of 2017 a lot has changed in her musical world as well as in the private sphere. Her music became more emotional, deeper and some BPM's slower. JJ has rediscovered her love for electronic music. Since 2018, she has been operating under her new name "Acid Flora". A tribute to the "Acid Bogen" floor in the KaterBlau Berlin and their place of residence on a certain Florastreet. The time has come to wear her new love for the Deep Melodic Techno on the dance floor.

Naarly is a Swedish producer and DJ based in the Mediterranean. From an early age, he decided to pursue music in some way. However, it would take many years before he started to release music on mainstream streaming platforms. 2024 became the year that a long-planned effort to release songs in the genres of deep/organic/afro style house finally came to life. Now, with frequent releases from his label which he is running along with fellow co-producer Thabza De Soul, Naarly is rising quickly as one of the fastest growing producers in the genre.

The moment I heard "Spanish Joint" I was hooked on D'Angelo's soulful approach to music. The dynamic of his singing, the hard hitting chords, the off timing of his compositions, the pocketed sound of the drums, the mixes that emphasized feel over clarity. 

Many months ago I got inspired to make this remix with my own twist. I edited his vocal flow reshaping it to a House groove (4/4), added synth keys and thick bass to his jazzy chords and picked my favorite parts of the song. I also added some percussions. I've been playing it mainly at after-hours and it always brings a warm uplifting intimate vibe to the dance floor. It has become a real favorite. 

Last week we learned about D'Angelo’s unexpected rise to the heavens so today I want to share this remix with you in his honor so you can also bring his special soulful energy wherever you are.


Rest in power D'Angelo and thank you for the endless inspiration.
