Oceanvs Orientalis - It's All About Six Days War

The first Moodfamily release brings co-founder and Belgian strong man AMyn to the table. 

The first track is the title track of the EP called 'Twisted River'. It’s a musical work that takes you a few years back combining a steady groove with an abstract melody that reaches beyond audible frequencies which will haunt dancefloors everywhere. It grabs and releases tension while it flows like a – you guessed it – twisted river.

Canson delivers a melancholic and deeply personal variation on the original twisted melody. While his piano hypnotizes, the main melody is cut, sliced and placed carefully, provoking subtle escapes from the main theme.  

The bassline brings more focus to this new mood which is created throughout the track by not grabbing the attention but rather fueling a sensitive groove. This brings the song into a completely new atmosphere fueled by a haunting synth which builds gently as the song evolves. 

The B-side, 'Gloam' might as well be the A-side as it requires somewhat more attention, but after listening to it for a few times it sticks to your mind. The melody is looming and it moves freely over a careless groove. It is a tad slower, but this allows a clear pronunciation of the musical phrases.

Mit der EP “Stay” begeben sich 959er & Nomi Solo auf ein akustisches Abenteuer, inspiriert von World Music, Chill Out und Down Tempo. Das Ergebnis ist Dümpeltechno vom Feinsten! 

Der Opening-Track “Stay” wird von einem wabernden Synthie getragen, der mitreißt, ohne dick aufzutragen. Seine technoide Abstammung bemerkt man spätestens durch das Einsetzen der Kickdrum. In der Mitte des Tracks kommt Gänsehautstimmung auf, verursacht durch ein harmonisches Flöten-Thema und dem immer wiederkehrenden Vocal. Abgerundet wird das Stück mit fein eingesetzten Percussions und einem dezenten Summen.

“Am Morgen nach einer durchtanzten Nacht” ist der Auftakt zum zweiten Titel der EP. “Carong” lädt ein zu einer Reise, begleitet von einer klaren Orgel und deepem Synthie-Sound. Sie führt auf einem langen Bogen zum eigentlichen Thema, welches durch sein ausgewogenes Gitarrenspiel besticht. Der Einsatz von traditionellen Shakern und die eingängige Bassline machen den Sound rund und schaffen eine Atmosphäre, die “wieder, und immer wieder” zum Träumen verleitet.

“Listen” wählt eine schnellere Gangart, die das Stück absolut clubtauglich macht. Es schöpft Kraft aus der treibenden Bassline und dem orchestral anmutenden Synthie. Der rollende Charakter wird durch das Zusammenspiel gezielter Rhythmuselemente verstärkt. Nicht zuletzt die dynamischen Steeldrums verleihen dem Stück seinen ganz eigenen Charakter. 

“Jenny” ist das sphärische Schlusswort der EP. Durch das Wechselspiel der langgezogenen Keys und der Gitarrenriffs geraten, mit Hilfe von viel Delay, die Gedanken ins Schweifen. Wieder sind es die präzise inszenierten Percussions, die den Titel einmalig machen. Der Track kommt ohne richtige Bassline aus, das schafft Raum und durch den melancholischen Vocal wandern die Gedanken weiter und weiter.

Following Luca Musto`s last EP “Proper Preaching,” which ended 2019 on a spiritual note, he returns in the new decade with his full solo release “Momentum.”

In a genre marked by repetition, this four-track EP once again manages to fuse a variety of diverse musical elements into the larger framework of electronic music.

The title track “Momentum” samples an interview by Tupac, in which he pushes back against the “gimme gimme gimme,” “push push push” mentality and asks us to stop and refocus.

Chrischou, the rumpled dreamy and confetti addicted representatives of, as he would call it, Koffermusik (acquitted → suitcase music) is anything except the avarage joe out of the neighborhood.
Strengthened in stressful situations, by playing at clubs and parties already in a young age, he lives straight on the calendar motto - exercise makes you wiser & louder would be nicer?!

Over the years he developed his style from classic American Hip Hop, Funk, Dancehall and Dub over D'n'B to Electronic Dance Music. Audible in his own norm-free productions who want not to be fit into any genre and should.
World-& Hiphop elements as well as Deep House, Tech House, House rhythms, remixes or edits, the genre diversity knows no limits!
In his current adopted country Berlin, he recorded and performed with Kleintierschaukel his first live set @plötzlich am Bodden on a Festival as wall as Berlin and surrounding. Along the years more gigs and Festivals should come, previously Plant C, also know as Fusion Festival.  

Trough old friends as new mates and a lot of autodidactic studies he learned the basics of digital slash analog music production.
Also proofed from dusk till dawn that he could handle the mix and knows how to reflect and implement the emotions of dancing hungry folks.

New effusions grow in the lab all day!
How you see - Influenced by the past, beaming into the future...
And if he isn’t lazy all day then he probably produces his way ;)
