Voices Of Wind: Adey is the first volume in our modular female solo vocal series Voices Of Wind. Each volume focuses on a new vocalist with a distinct creative style and comes complete with a full package of vital chromatic and melodic articulations that sound great and are easy and convenient to use in any music or video production project that comes your way. This edition focuses on the ethereal and soulfully nuanced mezzo-soprano voice of singer-songwriter Adey Bell. Her rich, nimble and dusky vocal character effortlessly fuses classical, pop, folk, blues, lounge and jazz vocal styles.

Little Pump Reeds is a collection of instruments we've stumbled across over the years that happen to fall on the smaller side of the wonderful and under appreciated world of hand-held air-driven reed-based instruments. This library ranges from fine quality hand-crafted traditional Indian Shruti Boxes, to a mini accordion and what we refer to as the Plastisax (something vaguely like a child's plastic soprano saxophone, but sounding more like a harmonica). This library also includes a lovely 14-note concertina of which we sampled 3 dynamic layers and multiple articulations. We also implemented a powerful user interface that allows quick access to all of the instruments in a single preset. As always, we've sampled each instrument lovingly and thoroughly, with attention to playability and musicality. Obviously, we took these instruments much farther than they were ever designed to go. These sample sets are surprisingly rich, full and playable in a way that one would normally only be able to expect from top notch, full-range instruments. In the end, we just decided it was high time somebody give these little misfit toys the respect and attention to detail that they truly deserve.

Glass Beach is a unique sample library for composers and sound artists that combines experimental percussion and sound design with an oceanic sfx and ambient soundscape library. We explore a wide variety of different natural beach, bay, estuary, marsh and wharf environments in wide stereo with a richly-detailed quality that puts you right there in the scene.

Glass Beach itself is a unique place on shore of the old village of Fort Bragg, on the northern coast of California. For decades during the last century, the town dumped its trash in the sea, heaping it into heaps towering 30 feet above the waves. “The Dumps” were finally shut down in 1967. After years of clean-up efforts, all that remains are the tons of broken glass too small and plentiful to pick from the sand. However, the relentless years of tide and waves have turned this glass into something magical. These millions of glass beads tumbling in the gentle surf create a remarkable effervescent sound you won’t find any other place on earth.

Austin, Texas is an odd place. So odd in fact, that “Keep Austin Weird” is virtually the officially recognized slogan of the city itself. The place is packed full of artists and art, musicians and the instruments behind them. In fact, there’s a shop on 6th St, at the heart of downtown Austin, where you can buy a guitar-shaped toilet seat, complete with sunburst finish. Among the strange are many really interesting and creative people, each exploring and giving back in their own way. Sometimes a guy just wants to build a towering castle of steel, plastic, glass and all manner of other glorious scraps that modern progress and consumption has wrought in his own backyard for over 20 years. And sometimes a guy has to fight for the right to keep what he’s built when the powers that be come along and tell him to tear it all down. Chris Cutting - Le Gaz (Naked) - Soundiron Flatulus

Chris Cutting’s official demo is a dressed mix using sounds from Tines & Echoes blended with other libraries.

Tines & Echoes is a unique hand-crafted tuned percussion instrument created by instrument designer and sound sculptor Bart Hopkin. It's a pentagonal sound box with 25 chromatically-tuned metal tines that each have a pair of sympathetic strings spanning the instrument's sound board. Rather than tuning the sympathetic strings to their primary tines, they are tuned randomly, so that vibrations resonate different string combinations bound to other tines. When the tines are plucked, they produce a sharp, crisp water-drop note that reverberates through the sympathetic strings and across the instrument in a soft ghostly ring, reminiscent of the celestial wash you hear when playing the undamped top octave of a piano.

UFO 61 is a vintage five-octave electronic organ from Italian instrument maker Viscount. Built in the 1970s, this simple synthesizer has a smooth, quaint tone with a warm, pleasantly fuzzy texture. Like many early suitcase organs and portable synths that proliferated during the era, it has just a few core instrument voices, a single speaker, simple rhythm box and a basic selection of classic organ controls. They’re just the ticket for classic sci fi soundtracks, electronic music and anything that needs a hint of mellow retro flavor.

Chris Cutting's demo uses only the sounds from the library The U.

The U is a glissy steel lamellophone created by master instrument inventor Bart Hopkin. Rather than having one tine per note, this creation has 14 closely spaced tines per note. Each group of tines is tuned in octaves and fifths across a range of three or four octaves. The sound is produced by stroking with a glissing action across the array of tines for the chosen note, using a thin stick-like plectrum. There are twelve such groups forming a chromatic scale. Since each group spans several octaves, melodies can be played creatively by accenting specific tines. The tines are made of narrow stainless steel machine screws, tuned by adjusting the length using the hex nuts at the base. In addition, most of the screws are overtone-tuned by means of additional hex nuts serving as adjustable weights along the length. The final result is a fascinatingly liquid and metallic timbre, ideal for your next composition that requires a truly unique tone.
