A bottle of pills later, your car pulled up outside the old building. The lights were on, struggling to cut through the heavy fog. Distant voices and music lingered like smoke as you entered the lobby. 

Miles to Midnight is a Dark Jazz Ambient album with a Lynchian Noir feel: A hotel trapped between two worlds and a detective with a traumatized past. 

God Body Disconnect's live jazz drums and cinematic wall-of-sound builds the foundation of the mysterious hotel. Cities Last Broadcast brings ghostly tape loops and melodies stuck in time. When I first started out, I released a ton of music in a relatively small span of years. I've done some stuff independently, and with the help of a few chance encounters I ended up on a label where I made some valuable friends that I still keep in contact with, as well as shape my view of music and the industry I found myself in. I did some physical run of CDs, did some remixing, and came back after a few years with a renewed interest in making music.

The past year has definitely felt like a new chapter in my attempt at being a musician, so I've decided to close the book on the previous chapter with a compilation album of the songs that are my personal favourites. Because I didn't just want to regurgitate old content, I've remastered a few songs to make them sound more up to date, and I've included a few previously unreleased tracks from that chapter to sweeten the deal!

I hope you enjoy the compilation! If you're new to my music, I think it'll serve as a great introduction.

It'll be free to download from SoundCloud and Bandcamp of course and it will be hitting streaming services on the same date, streaming services breaking street date notwithstanding.

Hey all. I'm a Dunedin based teacher and composer. I have been writing music since I was 15, and have had pieces performed live by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Dunedin Symphonic Orchestra, Dunedin Youth Orchestra and the Otago Symphonic Band, as well as scoring documentaries, short films, and the Minecraft mod "Pixelmon". I studied at Otago University, where I first obtained a honours degree in Physics, then a Pg Dip (Distinction) in Music, and finally a Masters of Teaching and Learning (Distinction).

The pixelmon soundtrack is now available from most major online retailers.
