01 That's Another Thing

The weather of my mind is never calm. I feel the essence of the brainstorm even before it starts. Even if I lose sight of the grey clouds, I close my eyes, and instantaneously, I'm always able to bring it back. It moves in and drastically affects my state of mind, which then affects my flowbility. Lightning strikes the question of what the deal is with an onlooker attempting to judge the depth and intensity of the conditions of my thoughts. I can only hope that the same person who asks who is Harlan, does not try and predict the storm that casts over them before they even find out my true identity. The clouds block the sun to cast a shadow of the H that everyone should look out for. Caution! Before you try and reach shelter, reach for your brain and become curious and interested in why everyone longs for my words as if i were literally speaking joints and alcohol. It's and addiction as I keep goin onto a road that is so unique that you must know yourself before you can even catch a glimpse of the road through the wind and rain. Soon, everyone will see that their thoughts affect their world around them. Life is a thought of the creator in the same image as we are the creators of our thoughts in life. This album portrays Harlan creating a Brainstorm.

13 Know Yourself

Finally, the canvas of hip hop has been splashed with a brand new color. Armed with a guitar and a notebook, hip hop artist Chris Harlan is impressing new fans everyday as he hops on stage, wails on his guitar and spits mind-blowing rhymes.

Chris Harlan released his first album "Harlan presents Brainstorm" in 2006. The single "Bring that Back" caught the attention of some indie film producers for various NC films, and Harlan was also invited to New York to be on the Speed Channel TV show "Unique Whips" as well as record a theme song for the nationwide cable show. Harlan's song "Like the Showgram" was played on one of NC's most well known radio stations, on G105's hit show "Bob & the Showgram" as they played the song and complimented on his music.

Not long after, he was invited back to the studio to a "Friday Free for All" where the DJs played more of his music. Harlan has shared the stage with Bubba Sparxxx, Nappy Roots, Afroman, Wu-Tang's Raekwon, The Ataris, and many more while promoting his new single "Burn it Up." His song, "Make Your Head Bang" was the soundtrack for the Osceola Studios commercial, aired on Fox 50 during Brian Dawson's (K97.5) television show. Recently he became nominated for "Best New Artist" by the Carolina Music Awards.

His unique style stems from an unsually wide range of influences including Jay-Z, Biggie, System of a Down, Fall Out Boy, Beastie Boys, Nirvana, Marilyn Manson and Eminem.
