Hi guys and welcome back to DSOT. 

Im happy to announce that joining me this month on the show is special guest - SIMON PATTERSON

I have compiled 60 minutes worth of my favourite Simon Patterson tracks & remixes over the years and as usual the show is Co-Hosted by both myself and the guest himself Simon Patterson.
This show went to air on TranceRadio.FM on Tuesday 27th August

There are some amazing tracks in tonight show, Im a huge fan of Simon work and a big fan of the new direction he seems to be carving out for Trance, his most recent work has an amazing unique sound that is a great fusion of Psy/Tech and Uplifting Trance, I really feel that he is ahead of the curve at the minute and shaping a new sound within the genre, all of which you will get to hear in tonights show, along with a lot of familiar classics, including one my my own personal favourites Dogzilla - Without You.

I recently met John after the Perth leg of his WKO Album tour and it was one of the most humbling moments and best live set that I have ever seen, I am honored and extremely humbled to be able to have him join me on the show tonight. I hope you guys enjoy this journey into the deeper underground side of Trance.

This has been without doubt one of my favourite shows to put together, and Im very excited to be sharing it with you all, I only hope that I have been able to do John's work justice with this set, and that you guys enjoy the show.

Deeper Shades Of Trance - The Classic Series Pt.3 - Modern Classics

I've got a very special show lined up for you this month. No stranger to the podcast and very good friend of mine Vernski is back.

Hi guys, its that time of the year again and I'm extremely happy to finally be able to share this massive project with you all. 

Over the past 6-8 weeks I have been shortlisting, editing, mixing and creating all of the intro's and mash ups in tonight's show, I hope you all enjoy the set.

Deeper Shades Of Trance - The Year Mix 2013 - feat Eric Thomas - "Secrets To Success"

After spending months down the Classic Trance rabbit hole prepping for my last gig, I needed to get some more chilled and melodic fresh sounds into my ears. 

I just can't get enough of progressive breaks, they've always been a soft spot for me, the melodies and the vocals just hit different. 

This is the 3rd mix in the series so far, packed with deep lush vibes and incredible vocals, think Anjunadeep meets breaks.

Breakin Out Vol.3

Hey guys, after a much longer than usual break, I'm happy to say that this episode is the relaunch of the regular DSOT Podcast. 

I will be uploading a 2 hour show on the first weekend of every month to both Soundcloud & iTunes, with the 2nd hour of the show being opened up for guest mixes. So if you would like to be featured as a guest on the show send me your Guestmix to Djchrishynds@gmail.com.

Tonights show is an extra special 2 hour Classic showcase. I have started the set off with a few slower but very beautiful Progressive House tracks that lead into some Classic Progressive Trance and then around half way through the set we get up into the classic 138-140 territory.

There is a good mix of older Classics from the late 90's and some Modern tracks from the mid 00's that carry that older classic sound, I like to call them the modern classics. 

I have and will be leaving the tracklist a mystery for the first 2 weeks, as I always find that with Classic sets like this, most of the tracks you will know and half the excitement and enjoyment is wondering whats coming next :)

I will update the tracklist after the set has been up for 2 weeks.

Deeper Shades Of Trance - The Classic Series Pt. 4

This set in my eyes, explores the greatest sound/sub genre that Trance ever produced. 

It's not your typical 138bpm Trance classic set filled with Uplifting Anthems, this set goes deeper into the dark progressive rabbit hole, and showcases both the dark and hypnotic side as well as the beautiful melodic side of the progressive genre. 

Bedrock as a label and Markus Schulz's Global DJ broadcast around the 00-05 era, was the greatest influence on my musical journey and really shaped the sound that I play. To this day I still hammer the mid 00's GDJB podcasts on the regular, I simply cannot get enough of that melodic progressive, and this 2 hour set really dives into that sound. 

This is one of my favourite to date, there are hardly any big moments or anthems, just quality tracks that you rarely hear played as they don't fit the typical Trance Classics nights.

Bedrock / Schulz 

Progressive Trance Classics (Bedrock/Schulz)

It's been a loooooooong time since I've mixed a higher BPM set, but I've been gravitating towards that 140-142 Tech and Classic Trance sound this past few weeks. 

This is a 2 hour set I've put together that starts off melodic and moulds it's way into a more bangin tech / hard trance vibe for the last hour. Mostly Trance from the mid 00's throwing it back with a lot of non-anthem tunes.

It's Propa Trance, Innit Bruv

Back with another upload this month and I seem to be finding more and more time these days to get back behind the decks and record some sets. 

My goal moving forwards is to get the regular monthly podcast back up and running starting from today. 

For anyone that has been following me for years will know, there was a period of about 7-8 years where I ran a regular monthly show Deeper Shades Of Trance, then life and kids got in the way making it very hard to find the time to get in a record a consistent show. 

I've still been heavily involved in the club scene and playing live set which I will upload from time to time but I've recently been finding myself with the luxury of time and being able to get back into a more consistent pattern of recording my sets. 

So from here on, it is officially back to the regular podcast and monthly uploads. 

This months show is diving deep into some of my favourite underground progressive tracks, some brand new and some slightly older gems, the back end of the set leans heavily into the sound that I just cannot find myself getting away from, that melodic and tech house vibe that keeps drawing me in.

It's been over 2 years since I have been able to have a regular and consistent full format podcast, but I find myself in a position of luxury, having more free time and getting myself back behind the decks on a more regular and consistent pattern recently so I'm committing to relaunching back into the podcast realm. 

The UT podcast is back to a regular 2 hour show dropping at the start of each month and featuring a guest mix from some of the finest Trance, Progressive and Techno artists in the Perth scene and from around the globe. 

This months guest mix comes from a very close friend of mine and the man behind the YangeBeats events in Perth, DJ Larko providing us with a banging 60 minute set under his alias "Techno Larking" 

He's sharing a 60 minute Techno set that he recently played live when he opened for James Zabelia here in Perth.

Underground Therapy Ep.37 - Guest Mix - KOOPA

Hey guys and welcome to the launch of my new monthly podcast. 

Most of you following me on Soundcloud will already know about my old podcast Deeper Shades Of Trance which I have decided to stop running as I am no longer a fan of the direction the modern "Trance" sound and its artists have taken. 

I wanted to branch away from the "Trance" name and focus on the deeper more underground sounds and artists, where I feel the real Trance is still alive and strong. 

This new podcast will be a monthly 2 hour show with a featured guest mix slot each month, and this month I have 2 lads who are responsible for running, in my eyes, the best underground label around. Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic of Mistique Music. 

They have a gorgeous 60 minute deep & progressive guest mix packed full of their own tracks, some of which haven't seen a release yet so you guys are in for a "UT" threat.

My own set starts with a really nice deep opener from Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic called Leap Of Faith and its in the Timewave remix, such a beautiful deep track given an awesome breaks remix from Timewave. 

A few stand out tracks from my own set are - Mitka - Nightwing, this track gives me goosebumps every time I play it, a release that was only available for a short time on his Soundcloud page that seemed to fly under the radar, but its an absolute beauty of a prog house tune, also Airwave's remix on Osiris - Believe, what a gem of a remix from Laurent, seriously top notch stuff, and finally a few really nice slabs of techno at the end of my set, one from Alan Fitzpatrick - For An Endless Night and also Alessandro Spaini - Life, two epic tracks to watch out for.

Underground Therapy Ep.38 - Guest Mix - SYLPH

Hey guys, welcome back for Episode 2 of Underground Therapy. 

This month I have a special featured guest mix from the Big Boss Dog at Old SQL records, Ivan Nikusev, some really nice deep proggy vibes off that set, I know you guys will enjoy it. 

With my own set I have went for some really nice low bpm deep stuff to open the set and builds slowly into a more progressive Trance finish. 

A few noteworthy tracks in my own set would have to be the new release from Rex Mundi really nice Trance track with a dark techno edge, an older fav of mine from Relaunch - The Blue room cant get enough of that one, and also a few gems from Manu Riga to look out for, he's on fire atm.

I had a Deep Progressive set recorded and ready to roll until a very good friend of mine got his EP released on JOOF Recordings this past week, so I decided to restructure the show, so I could feature a few of his tracks in this months episode.

Alex Di Stefano - The Gateway another big Techno bomb from the main man, and also an oldie remastered from Perry O'Neil - Free Yourself huge low bpm uplifting number from Perry here, proper oldskool Trance feels on this track, a real stand out imo.

Particles Of Light (Transtate Records - Preview)

Hey guys, finally back after a long break, Ive been away for a month traveling America and haven't had any time to get mixing until this week so this episode is well overdue. 

Taking a bit more of a Trance route this month, starting off with some awesome progressive breaks, including an absolutely stunning and powerful track from a good friend of mine Satinka, would love to hear your thoughts on his most recent work, it gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it, such a wicked track. 

The second half of this month show features a special guest mix from a man that needs no introduction, The Digital Blonde, a veteran in the scene and he's one of those very few artists that can produce multiple genres and sound just as amazing in every one, one of the main reasons that I am a huge fan of his.

Underground Therapy Ep.04 - Special Guest -  THE DIGITAL BLONDE - JOOF Recordings

Well, better late than never! 

It took a while but I hope its worth the wait. I always find the hardest part with a Classics set like this, is having to leave tracks out, there are still so many great tracks that just didn't fit the flow or timing of the set, so who knows maybe in another 6 months the could even be a part 3 :P 

My main aim with this set was to pick up from where part one had left off, around 135bpm and build up into the 140 Uplifting Classics. 

The first 60 minutes of the set is a bit of a mixture of some of the older Classics sets that I have run, along with a few "new" Classic tracks thrown in to change it up a little, its so hard to overlook some of these tracks in an Essential mix. The second two hours of the set have a few tracks that I feel don't get enough play time in the "standard" Classic sets. 

Like I said already, so many other great tracks that I could have used but just ran out of time, so if I get the same kind of response on this set as I did with Part 1, Im more than happy to put together another set and release Part 3 (within the next year :P ).

PS - sorry not sorry about the 3 Push/Plastic Boy tracks in a row, I was running out of time and had to fit them in :P

Hey guys first podcast of 2018 and Im stoked to have Alfredo and Juan from the Deep Soul Duo join me on guest mix duties this month.
Ive been a huge fan of DSD for years now, ever since I first heard them on an old GTG podcast, so I was pumped to hear that they are back in the studio together producing again.

I want to say a huge thanks to the lads for providing an awesome 60 minute guest mix this month.

For my own set Ive got so many huge tracks I don't know where to start. I guess the intro is a good enough place. A recent collab from Ally Brown and Dave Walker aka The Stupid Experts with Full Moon Rising, what a sick track with a huge deep and groovy baseline, looking forward to hearing what else the lads cook up for 2018. Another huge collab from last year was Max Graham and Estiva on a monster techno track Generation, Ive got the breakbeat remix in the podcast this month and its pure filh, such a bangin track. Lastly my track of the year from my producer of the year Tim Penner's - The Keymaster is a progressive masterpiece.

The Underground Trance & Progressive scene is a very tight and small community, I do my best to feature and promote all of the artists I love, the only way we can all make this music heard and grow the scene is by sharing and promoting. Paul Thomas is the man behind FSOE UV label, an absolute staple progressive label in my books, and also the man behind that absolutely incredible remix of Matan Caspi's - Certain Way track, featured in his guest mix this month. The best progressive Trance track Ive heard in years, I remember having serious goosebumps in the car the first time I heard it a few months back on JOOFs GTG podcast.

Underground Therapy Ep.23 Special Guest - PAUL THOMAS

Hey guys, its been a while :) 

A little over 2 years ago now I put a stop to my "Deeper Shades Of Trance" podcast and relaunched the podcast as "Underground Therapy" 

The main reason behind this was that I wasn't a fan of the direction the genre had went, and I wanted to break away from the name "Trance" as to most people the name "Trance" was associated with a lot of EDM and Bigroom noise, which is the exact opposite of what I wanted to play. I have been and still do play what I feel is Trance, but to most of your average listeners, it would be labelled as either Techno or Progressive, to me anything that puts you into that hypnotic groove and makes you close your eyes, drop your head and get lost in the moment is a true moment of trance, very far from the "138" "bigroom" and "edm" drops 

With the recent release of The Digital Blondes new album 'NEON' its the breath of fresh air the genre has needed. Its bringing an absolute pure and original sound back into the genre, mixed with the unmistakable original synth-wave sounds produced by the utter melodical genius Ricky Smith, and for that very reason, I had to dig up the DSOT Tribute Series and get in touch with both Ricky, and my musical twin and good friend DJ Verknski to help me showcase 30 years worth of absolute brilliance by our special guest and feature artist for this show - THE DIGITAL BLONDE 

Vernski is kicking off the first hour of the show with a selection of his favourite DB tunes. 

I will be following up in the second hour with my own selection, and then Ricky will be joining us to take over the decks, he has provided us with a very special and exclusive NEON mix including some unheard tweaks to his album tracks.

Deeper Shades Of Trance - The Tribute Series with Special Guest AIRWAVE

Hi guys and welcome back!!

So finally as promised, this is the first in the 3 part Classic Series I will be running, and tonight's show is all about those big hitting club anthems that we all know and love so much.

This set has been mixed on Vinyl, I had a lot of these tracks on wax and used traktor for a few that I never had in my collection.  

Every time I listen back to this set I get nostalgia, I can relate every track to an epic clubbing memory of the past and this is exactly what I am trying to achieve for you with tonight's show!

I have deliberately left the track list off the set, I will update it in a few weeks time, I want the set to be a complete surprise on first listen, they are all tracks that we know and love so I don't want to spoil the fun ;)

Hey guys and welcome back to the 2nd part of the DSOT Classic Series.

Im slowing things down a touch this month and dusting off some of my progressive classics. 

I personally feel this set is more for the seasoned Trance listener, there are very few big hitting tracks in the set, its more about kicking back and getting lost in the music.
