Hi guys its with absolute pleasure that I bring to you this amazing collection of music tonight, from "hands down" the best Trance Dj/producer on the planet.

I recently met John after the Perth leg of his WKO Album tour and it was one of the most humbling moments and best live set that I have ever seen, I am honored and extremely humbled to be able to have him join me on the show tonight. I hope you guys enjoy this journey into the deeper underground side of Trance.

This has been without doubt one of my favourite shows to put together, and Im very excited to be sharing it with you all, I only hope that I have been able to do John's work justice with this set, and that you guys enjoy the show.

Deeper Shades Of Trance - The Tribute Series with Special Guest JOHN 00 FLEMING

Hi guys and welcome back, 

This month on the tribute series I have a pretty big guest on the show, one of my favorite Dj's and producers Markus Schulz. 

I'm a huge fan of Markus's oldschool coldharbour sound and have been lucky enough to have him join me on the show tonight so that I can showcase his work to you all.

I have tried to strike a balance with tonights show, by mixing some of his recent big room sounds to keep things fresh, but Im putting most of my focus on the older side of his sound, because to me, that is where his best and purest productions are, that older coldharbour progressive sound is very unique and hard to beat imo. 

The breakdown for tonights show starts off with some older progressive tracks/remixes from Markus and moves into the harder hitting bigroom sound that most of you all know and love, before we hit the back end of the set getting back into a more progressive classic feel with the higher bpm tracks.

Deeper Shades Of Trance - The Tribute Series - with Special Guest MARKUS SCHULZ

Hello and welcome back. 

This months show is a real gem, I've got a very good friend, Perth local Dj and Producer Subtrate C dropping in on guest mix duties. 

Substrate C is currently signed on CJ Arts Deepersense music label. If you are following my show you will already know CJ Art and his label, they are both absolute staples in the Underground Trance/Progressive scene.

Substrate's recent Wurzburg EP released on Deepersense has been making waves in the underground scene, some really nice deep melodic progressive that I've attached links for below, make sure you check it out and show some support.

Clint's guest mix is very typical of his musical style, lots of melodies with a bit of a tech edge to it, that guest mix coming up in the second half of the show. 

For my own set I've really been diggin the slower Anjunadeep/House vibes recently and have really captured that with some nice organic house tracks, filled with ethnic vocal, lush melodies and all around chilled vibes.

After spending months down the Classic Trance rabbit hole prepping for my last gig, I needed to get some more chilled and melodic fresh sounds into my ears.

The lead up to this event was huge, but it lived up to the hype!!

Such an amazing effort from everyone involved and I'm proud to be part of such a solid team of lads pushing the scene forward in Perth.

I had the privilege of opening the night and playing through sunset on the Rooftop, I went with a nice chilled melodic house vibe straight out of the Anjunadeep handbook to set the tone for the night, no prizes for guessing who my favourite melodic / prog artist is atm, can't get enough of that Dosem sound.

What an incredible event. I swear I had a smile on my face from start to finish.

A few months back I got a message asking if I would be keen to hand over the decks to DOSEM when he came to Perth. I am probably the biggest fan boy for Dosem that you could ever meet so this was an absolute dream for me to get the opportunity to play on the line up let alone do the hand over. Almost every set I have played over the last 3-4 years has at least one of his tracks in it, he's easily my favourite producer and after hearing him hammer out his set on Sunday its pretty clear why, the energy and vibe on the night was next level.

Massive shout out and thanks to the lads at Above All Else for putting on such a quality event, the venue looked and sounded absolutely incredible.

My set was right before DOSEM so I had to play a lot more melodic and slowly build into a slightly techier sound without going too hard to set him up. The set went off on the night, hopefully that comes across on the re-recording, drop me comment /share/follow, enjoy.

Hey guys, after a much longer than usual break, I'm happy to say that this episode is the relaunch of the regular DSOT Podcast.

Tonights show is an extra special 2 hour Classic showcase. I have started the set off with a few slower but very beautiful Progressive House tracks that lead into some Classic Progressive Trance and then around half way through the set we get up into the classic 138-140 territory.

There is a good mix of older Classics from the late 90's and some Modern tracks from the mid 00's that carry that older classic sound, I like to call them the modern classics. 

I have and will be leaving the tracklist a mystery for the first 2 weeks, as I always find that with Classic sets like this, most of the tracks you will know and half the excitement and enjoyment is wondering whats coming next :)

Hard to do this justice, but this was easily one of the most insane events that I've ever been part of. 300+ People going absolutely mental from start to finish. 

My set was the bridging set for the night moving from House across into Techno. Starts out with some Peak time House tune and moves into some heavy hitters for the majority of the set.

I want to say a huge thanks and shout out to everyone involved in this one, quality music from the start to the end. I've never had so much feedback and reaction to a set, the place was pumpin. 

Sunset to Sunrise, we still had a few hundred going strong as the sun came up.

Chris Hynds Live @ Bailamos Party - Sunset to Sunrise Rave

This set in my eyes, explores the greatest sound/sub genre that Trance ever produced. 

It's not your typical 138bpm Trance classic set filled with Uplifting Anthems, this set goes deeper into the dark progressive rabbit hole, and showcases both the dark and hypnotic side as well as the beautiful melodic side of the progressive genre. 

Bedrock as a label and Markus Schulz's Global DJ broadcast around the 00-05 era, was the greatest influence on my musical journey and really shaped the sound that I play. To this day I still hammer the mid 00's GDJB podcasts on the regular, I simply cannot get enough of that melodic progressive, and this 2 hour set really dives into that sound. 

This is one of my favourite to date, there are hardly any big moments or anthems, just quality tracks that you rarely hear played as they don't fit the typical Trance Classics nights.

Underground Therapy Ep.34 - Melodic / Peak House

It's been a loooooooong time since I've mixed a higher BPM set, but I've been gravitating towards that 140-142 Tech and Classic Trance sound this past few weeks. 

This is a 2 hour set I've put together that starts off melodic and moulds it's way into a more bangin tech / hard trance vibe for the last hour. Mostly Trance from the mid 00's throwing it back with a lot of non-anthem tunes.

It's Propa Trance, Innit Bruv

Back with another upload this month and I seem to be finding more and more time these days to get back behind the decks and record some sets. 

My goal moving forwards is to get the regular monthly podcast back up and running starting from today. 

For anyone that has been following me for years will know, there was a period of about 7-8 years where I ran a regular monthly show Deeper Shades Of Trance, then life and kids got in the way making it very hard to find the time to get in a record a consistent show. 

I've still been heavily involved in the club scene and playing live set which I will upload from time to time but I've recently been finding myself with the luxury of time and being able to get back into a more consistent pattern of recording my sets. 

So from here on, it is officially back to the regular podcast and monthly uploads. 

This months show is diving deep into some of my favourite underground progressive tracks, some brand new and some slightly older gems, the back end of the set leans heavily into the sound that I just cannot find myself getting away from, that melodic and tech house vibe that keeps drawing me in.

90s & 00s Rap/Hip Hop Mixtape

Fun Fact that not a lot of people know - I bought my first set of Turntables 22 years ago and spent the first few years of my DJ life learning to mix rap and hip hop.

Since then, I've only ever recorded 1 other hip hop/rap set as I wouldn't class myself as a hip hop Dj by any means, but I still spend a huge amount of my time listening to the music.

I put this mix together for something different, I hate being pigeon holed in to a single style or genre. For me mixing is about having fun, expressing creativity and stepping outside my comfort zone every once in a while.

This is very different from my usual House/Techno/Trance sets and is mostly for my own listening purposes, it's a collection of some of my favourite oldschool tunes and artists, the mixing is clean and tight but not  DMC style tricks or flair,  hopefully you can enjoy the vibe.

We're back!!!!!!!

It's been over 2 years since I have been able to have a regular and consistent full format podcast, but I find myself in a position of luxury, having more free time and getting myself back behind the decks on a more regular and consistent pattern recently so I'm committing to relaunching back into the podcast realm. 

The UT podcast is back to a regular 2 hour show dropping at the start of each month and featuring a guest mix from some of the finest Trance, Progressive and Techno artists in the Perth scene and from around the globe. 

This months guest mix comes from a very close friend of mine and the man behind the YangeBeats events in Perth, DJ Larko providing us with a banging 60 minute set under his alias "Techno Larking"

Underground Therapy March Is LIVE!

Back with an action packed 3 hour special this month, featuring a 2 hour guest mix from good friend and fellow Yangebeats resident Dj "KOOPA"

With just under 2 weeks to the Annual Yangebeats Boat Party, it only made sense to get one of the boys behind the decks for guest mix duties this month.

For my own set this month I have decided go with more of a Deep Trance sound than the last few shows. I had a Deep Progressive set recorded and ready to roll until a very good friend of mine got his EP released on JOOF Recordings this past week, so I decided to restructure the show, so I could feature a few of his tracks in this months episode.

Apart from the Satinka tracks a few standouts in my own set this month have to be Airwave's - A Touch Of Grace, another monster release from the master of Deep Trance cannot get enough of this track atm. Alex Di Stefano - The Gateway another big Techno bomb from the main man, and also an oldie remastered from Perry O'Neil - Free Yourself huge low bpm uplifting number from Perry here, proper oldskool Trance feels on this track, a real stand out imo.

Hey guys, welcome back :) 

Ive got a monster show lined up this month with my favourite Dj at the moment joining me in the second half of the show on Guest Mix duties, Mr Tim Penner.

I don't need to give a back story as if you are listening to my show there is no doubt you already know who Tim is. He's provided a really deep and groovy 60 minute guest mix for the second half of this months show. 

My own set is very progressive and techy this month, Ive stayed pretty deep and low on the bpms so I hope you enjoy the 2 hours of deep proggy goodness, so many amazing tracks out there atm.

Hey guys, Im running a few days behind this month, I like to upload the show on the first weekend of every month but I had my sons first birthday at the weekend which set me back a few days with the podcast, but not to worry as I know the quality of tunes tonight will make up for the fact that its late :P 

Im honoured to have Underground royalty join me on Guest Mix duties tonight, CJ Art is a man that needs no introduction, Im a huge fan of his productions and remixes and he's dropped a solid 60 min guest mix filled with quality deep progressive and techno. 

Ive cranked things up myself this month and I feel like this set is a perfect representation of my current sound. Sometimes it just flows and works like magic and for me this was one of those sets, I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did putting it together.

Underground Therapy Ep.21 - Special Guest - CJ ART

Hey guys, its been a while :) 

A little over 2 years ago now I put a stop to my "Deeper Shades Of Trance" podcast and relaunched the podcast as "Underground Therapy" 

The main reason behind this was that I wasn't a fan of the direction the genre had went, and I wanted to break away from the name "Trance" as to most people the name "Trance" was associated with a lot of EDM and Bigroom noise, which is the exact opposite of what I wanted to play. I have been and still do play what I feel is Trance, but to most of your average listeners, it would be labelled as either Techno or Progressive, to me anything that puts you into that hypnotic groove and makes you close your eyes, drop your head and get lost in the moment is a true moment of trance, very far from the "138" "bigroom" and "edm" drops 

With the recent release of The Digital Blondes new album 'NEON' its the breath of fresh air the genre has needed. Its bringing an absolute pure and original sound back into the genre, mixed with the unmistakable original synth-wave sounds produced by the utter melodical genius Ricky Smith, and for that very reason, I had to dig up the DSOT Tribute Series and get in touch with both Ricky, and my musical twin and good friend DJ Verknski to help me showcase 30 years worth of absolute brilliance by our special guest and feature artist for this show - THE DIGITAL BLONDE 

Vernski is kicking off the first hour of the show with a selection of his favourite DB tunes. 

I will be following up in the second hour with my own selection, and then Ricky will be joining us to take over the decks, he has provided us with a very special and exclusive NEON mix including some unheard tweaks to his album tracks.

Hey guys, Im so excited and humbled to be able to share this months Tribute show with you all. I am very proud to be able to say that I have been working with one of my all time favourite Dj/Producers over the past 2/3 weeks putting this show together. 

Airwave is a man that needs no introduction, with almost 20 years in the game he has established himself as one of the major players helping to influence and shape the sound of Trance & Progressive.

Deeper Shades Of Trance - The Tribute Series with Special Guest TEMPLE ONE

So finally as promised, this is the first in the 3 part Classic Series I will be running, and tonight's show is all about those big hitting club anthems that we all know and love so much.

This set has been mixed on Vinyl, I had a lot of these tracks on wax and used traktor for a few that I never had in my collection.  

Every time I listen back to this set I get nostalgia, I can relate every track to an epic clubbing memory of the past and this is exactly what I am trying to achieve for you with tonight's show!

I have deliberately left the track list off the set, I will update it in a few weeks time, I want the set to be a complete surprise on first listen, they are all tracks that we know and love so I don't want to spoil the fun ;)

Deeper Shades Of Trance - The Classic Series Pt 1 - "Anthems"

Hey guys and welcome back to the 2nd part of the DSOT Classic Series.

Im slowing things down a touch this month and dusting off some of my progressive classics. 

I personally feel this set is more for the seasoned Trance listener, there are very few big hitting tracks in the set, its more about kicking back and getting lost in the music.

There are a few tracks in the set that I hold as the greatest progressive tracks ever produced but I dont want to spoil the fun by giving away the tracklist just yet, so sit back with a beer,  get your headphones on tight and turn it up while and drift away in some of the best progressive Trance around.

Deeper Shades Of Trance - The Classic Series Pt 2  - A Progressive Journey

Deeper Shades Of Trance / Underground Therapy Podcast

Around 10 years ago I set up a podcast called Deeper Shades of Trance, with the intention of delivering a quality 2 hour mix of Uplifting/Classic/Progressive Trance. 

The show ended up as 3 projects, the regular podcast, the tribute series and the classic series. Each show would feature some of the biggest names in the scene as either guest mixers or co-presenters. 

After the explosion of the EDM scene and Trance becoming more and more commercialised, I wanted to break away from the name Trance, and relaunched the podcast as Underground Therapy. With the goal of providing quality underground Trance/Techno/Progressive and featuring a monthly guest mix from some of the biggest names in the scene. 

From time to time I re-visit and will put out some special edition Deeper Shades Of Trance shows, especially the Classics series, as Im still a huge fan of that Classic Trance sound.
