Again Saudade lives a life deeply interwoven with jungle music. It's his driving obsession, one that began in 1993 at the age of 9 and which saw his previous project - Necrotype - release on labels like 7th Storey Projects, Omni Music and Diamond Life. Obsession requires perfection, however, and by 2020 the Necrotype moniker had lost two key ingredients: real personal integrity, and a sense of musical meaning.

Enter Again Saudade, a new name for a seasoned producer in search of sonic innovation. That's exactly what the self-titled EP is, an innovative six-tracker that launches a fresh creative direction, one that seeks to channel residual thoughts and emotion relating to trauma and abandonment. It's a deeply human, personal piece of music and we're hugely proud to have played a role in forging Again Saudade's renewed sense of artistic identity.

That identity manifests itself in spacious ambiance cut through with hypnotic percussive lines. This EP is a tapestry of soundscapes woven together by a cohesive perspective on jungle with soul, on breaks music with musicality at its core and individuality in every corner. The title track, 'Again Saudade', names this approach with a personal stamp, and its rising crescendos of hypnotic vocal leads and rich, organic drum lines tell a story you will not forget. Short-term memory and skippable superficiality are not to be found here; rather, you'll discover the limits of what jungle can be.

Technicality Sessions returns with a brand new installment from London-based Basic Rhythm. Adventurous & slapped to a T, this one's sure to keep you vibing on through the summer heat!

Hailing from the pirate days of underground radio, Anthoney Hart featured most notably on Rude FM and quickly became entrenched in London’s dance scene. 

In 2016 he started the Basic Rhythm alias as a means of recontextualizing a dance music past, drawing upon his pirate years, while still pushing forward into new territories to emerge with more overtly dance floor material. Recorded primarily with the DJ in mind, Basic Rhythm's tracks are colourful, brutalist and adventurous contemporary hybrids, their angular rhythms drawing on Britain’s dance heritage, but with an eye firmly on the present. He founded Raw Basics in 2020 pushing Modernist Hardcore & Future Funk. Keep your ears peeled for forthcoming releases on Planet Mu & his Raw Basic imprint.

Presenting Volume 5 of the Technicality Sessions: Tim Reaper.

@Tim-Reaper first fell in love with drum ‘n’ bass after discovering @AndyC_ram ’s @Mixmag-1 cover CD as a teenager. Countless hours followed, spent devouring jungle’s deep history – and later attending infamous club nights like @Rupture and our own Technicality. 

Since 2010, he’s earned a reputation within the 160+ realms for carving old-school energy into undoubtedly forward-thinking productions. His music has been reaching ears across the underground spectrum, in part thanks to the release of the 'Cityscapes' four-tracker (@Lobster-Theremin) and a collaborative EP with Special Request on @iamsherelle and @NAINA_ldn ’s @Hooversound Recordings. Followers of his will also be familiar with his releases on Globex Corp (co-run by @Dwarde) over the years. 

Also a DJ and radio host, as well as the owner of record label Future Retro, this mix combines Reaper’s numerous talents harnessing the frenetic energy of classic sets whilst paving the way for a new generation of artists.

“Headwinds is open to interpretation, and has the potential to be dual-meaning, depending on the perspective of the listener. On one hand it could be the common currents of energy that one has to often work against, in day to day life and otherwise. On the other hand, Headwinds is a term to define the thoughts and streams of consciousness that plague those that by nature overthink. 
                  When I create, the music comes first, before acquiring meaning, but to me this album sounds like a single day in its progression, from day through to night, and although life has changed since the music was written, the feelings and themes still resonate”

Will Miles, Virginia Born Junglist badman, finally joins the Inperspective family with 4 glorious cuts of hardstep futurism. 

Music that captures the old school sensibilities while still maintaining the forward thinking ethos that has become the Inperspective staple. 

Title track Choose Wisely brings a side to repertoire that isn’t often seen. Stomping Amen of the highest order. Does the damage that needs to be done. 

Medicine brings the pain is a starkly different way, steppy hard break with a morphing darkside bassline is the order of the day on this one, encapsulated with the sinister atmosphere. 

Bringing in the element of diversity of the EP we have Pulsation, a quirky, Dubby Footwork/Jungle hybrid. Has been shocking audiences all over with it’s skippy progressive style. 

Finally, Want Not, brings the beauty. Hardstep Liquid vibes are what makes this tune fairly unique in the Inperspective catalogue, but don’t let the haunting piano and chilling vocals confuse you. The bassline in this one comes from the depths of hades!

The Inperspective Records founder finally commits an EP to his beloved label after his debut track “Wednesday Evening” appeared 15 years ago.  He dedicated his time to promoting and pushing the label, but a slew of releases on Fresh Trip, Immerse, Modern Urban Jazz, Cylon Recordings, Renegade, Exit Records and the recent upload of previously unreleased stuff on Spotify finally ignited his desire to get new music out again.  

Chris presents 4 tracks that some of the closest people in his life have chosen and insisted that he release.  Covering a myriad of styles, this release showcases the loves in Chris’s musical life.  

“Dragons In the World”, the title track, and a statement of intent, a purist Jazz break laden workout that is indicative of the Inperspective Sound.  It’s starts and never stops and showcases the most progressive side to his musical arsenal.  Inperspective stalwart Profane insisted that this tune should see the light of day, so here we are. 

“Clock Tower” was inspired by his trip to Croatia.  Having heard Caibire & Dbridge back to back at Hospitality on the beach. A inebriated Chris returned home, loaded up his laptop and this tune came out.  He played it the next day warming up with the Hospital Records crew and staff member Ed Priest suggested that the tune was release worthy, Diffrent Music & Med School manager Dexta echoed this sentiment.  The track harks back to an earlier version of Chris’s sound, a chunky half time monster. 

“Amber’s Bush” is an oldschool workout that happened quickly and fluidly.  Label family member Alex Jones enthusiastic response to it when played out told Chris that this should be on this EP.  A Smooth yet rugged roller that never stops once it starts. The bassline makes you think of whale sounds, put it that way!

“You Understand” is the result of a THC fuelled session with long time friend and fellow Black bespeckled jungalist, Will Miles.  It’s loopy, it’s rolling and it’s what many know his style to be. A fitting end to this most welcome return.

Earl Grey’s repertoire includes releases on esteemed labels such as Eastern Promise Audio, Plush Recordings, Subtle Audio Recordings, Western Lore and his own Hyperchamber Music. Following the success of his experimental Headwinds LP and his addition to the “Teddy Bear Trilogy”, Earl Grey now brings dynamic new EP ‘French Exit’ to Inperspective Records. 

Opener ‘False Horns’ is a deep track with a sinister build, teasing in an eerie horn sound to create an atmospheric soundscape, with the hypnotic, jazzy fused breakbeat finishing what is an outstanding start to the incredible EP. ‘After They Turn The Rigs Off’ adds an electrifying complexity that takes us on a journey, leading with vocal samples and a piercing beat, before transporting us to a spiritual world through echoing chants and a lighter sound. ‘Mime Jar Lens’ is refreshingly toned-down in comparison to the previous exhilarating tracks. Nonetheless, it packs its own punch, with sharp breaks and an ambient jazzy style that is captivating and dreamy.

Title-track ‘French Exit’ is eerie in a way that will have you hanging on for every beat, as it breaks sonic boundaries and pulls you down into a deep underworld. Earl Grey demonstrates his hypnotic powers, drawing us out from the superbly dark world of the previous track and into the light, dreamy sound of ‘Lessons Learnt.’ ‘Hypothermic’ rounds of this release with a rolling, richly atmospheric track. This closer seamlessly combines both the lighter, ethereal sounds and moodier, dark tones of the other tracks.

London-based No Nation heads up the first in a brand new series on Inperspective Records, 'Technicality Sessions', highlighting the most explosive talent and eclectic selections!

Rooted in the sounds of Jazz, Progressive Rock and Fusion, No Nation quickly cemented himself as a staple within the Soul, RnB and old school Hip-Hop club scenes with a Residency at Vibe London, alongside stellar appearances at popular events like Old School Sundays and GotSoul Sundays, as well as international bookings across the globe. A transition away from his roots brought him closer to Jungle, and a residency on Subtle Radio exploring a fresh take on UK dance music.  All these influences are eminent throughout this sublime mix. 

As a producer his music is something to be savoured. Drawing inspiration from music on labels such as Inperspective and Scientific Wax, he combines a dynamic and diverse fusion of soulful sounds, chopped breaks and samples - sure to leave a lasting impression. Along with his production partner Sheba Q, No Nation has several features on Bristol-based dance label, Slippery Sounds, and looks forward to releases on other notable imprints in 2021.
