Following his 2023 label debut on the ‘Explorations’ EP compilation series, Chris Luno unveils a new double A-side, and marks the first standalone release on the new Anjunadeep Explorations label. ‘Calmy’ and ‘Slowly’ are two warm and inviting deep house cuts, featuring captivating vocal hooks, spacious pads and playful melodies. ‘Calmy’ was recently premiered on the now sold-out label vinyl sampler.

Starting his YouTube mix series in 2019, the Berlin-based artist has amassed over 57M views, and 400k subscribers on his channel featuring mixes from all over the world, and has been heavily supported by reputable radio stations such as SiriusXM Chill, with over 500 plays across his releases. He has released with other reputable labels, such as This Never Happened and Purified. This summer also sees Chris Luno stepping up to his first Anjunadeep events, playing at Explorations festival in Albania, as well as Anjunadeep Open Air events in London, New York and Montréal.

Backstory: 
A few years ago, I hit a bit of a creative block and couldn’t seem to finish my tracks. For a couple of weeks, nothing clicked. One day, my girlfriend suggested I join her at a warehouse where she was organizing some work-related tasks, so I could try working on music in a new environment.

In the warehouse, I found myself a couch and started working on what would become ‚Internet‘. From the moment I began, it felt like stepping into a wormhole. Time flew by-what felt like ten minutes was actually four hours-and, somehow, I started and finished the track in that single session. I don’t think I’ve ever finished a track so quickly.

When I started playing ‚Internet‘ in clubs, the reaction was unreal. Every time, it felt like an anthem-an ironic ode to the internet and its ability to bring people together in one room. Fittingly, the vocal that ties it all together (I found it on the internet) was something I stumbled upon online.

Approaching its 20th year, Anjunadeep has become “one of dance music’s ultimate tastemaker labels” (Billboard). Known for breaking global artists like Ben Böhmer, Lane 8, Tinlicker and Dusky, the label has a reputation as “an A&R hotbed” (Resident Advisor).

Now, the label launches its new imprint titled ‘Anjunadeep Explorations’ this July. ’The ‘Explorations’ imprint is an evolution of the much-loved Various Artist EP series of the same name, which spanned 25 editions between 2016-2023 on Anjunadeep.
