I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

Lets rewind time and go back to a dark Saturday night in the basement of East London's famous XOYO venue, look up to the DJ booth and see two guys in control of the decks having the time of their life. Those two are of course Raf Rundell and Joe Goddard aka <a href="https://www.facebook.com/followthebears"> The 2 Bears </a>.  Recorded live on Saturday 3rd May during their 12 week residency with the Pachanga Boys and the legendary Artwork on the lineup, we managed to grab the set exclusively as this weeks instalment of our i-DJ series. Hey guys.

Thanks for taking the time to listen to this mix.

This is a recording of a live stream i did on Mixify yesterday.
It was an event hosted by Raggydoll, who set it up for me. I just turned up and did the mix for her.

It's a full on retro 80s feel, with loads of tracks i remember from growing up in the 80s, i'm sure you'll remember lots of these too if you were around then.

For me i wouldn't of even got back into mixing/DJ'ing if it wasn't for alot of the people that re-edited these tracks your listening to here. I gave DJ'ing up years ago. I had grown very bored with house, trance, prog and funky, i'd played those styles of music for too long. 

By chance a while ago however i came onto soundcloud randomly and started looking for some old stuff 80s tracks. I was lucky enough to land on a mix produced by a guy called "80s Child" who i now know as Danny.

When i listened to his mix, it literally blew me away, i had no idea people were taking old 80s tracks and editing them, and making them club-ready, to be mixed properly etc.

Since then, ive found other people that do exactly the same, and got to know some of them, people such as Wonkar (thanks for the Ableton help m8), The Reflex, Rayko, Dr Packer, Shit Hot SoundSystem and the Groove Motion guys. All top class people with serious skills for this sort of stuff.
