I’ve been enjoying these hybrid DJ sets lately--live mixing my own tracks and edits of others. It's fun to augment this sort of performance by playing little bits here and there, bringing additional rhythm and textural loops in and out. It’s all about just curating a vibe in a more extended, 30-60 minute span. I had the chance to do a similar set to this one at a friend’s party last week and it was a blast. 

The MIDI Fighter has been instrumental to getting hands-on control of some the Ableton parameters, effects, and crossfader. Teenage Engineer’s OP-1 has also been fun to add some extra melody and ambiance. 

Brushed Evergreen Labs is a series of mixes and performances through which I explore the intersection of ambient and techno music.

Titanium White

A tonic kaleidoscope is an audio-optical instrument with two or more reflecting surfaces inclined to each other on complimentary or reflexive angles. Light and sonic waves pass through it and are amplified as they are refracted, creating a mosaic of symmetrical patterns. When you bifurcate a tonic kaleidoscope and channel each light ray into an atomic defractor, the reflections can be channeled directing into the field of human brain waves, forming an infinite pattern that fills the entire mental field. Lay down, lay down and feel the expanding flexagon.
