Selena is one of my favorite Hispanic artists and this is one of my favorite songs from her. I really wanted to make a cover to the song. I hope you enjoy it.

This song started as a reflection on the conversations I've had with my friend @DJShAnkAri about our mothers and how they would distort the truth to make themselves the heroes. It's about the blurred lines between truth and fiction and the devastating consequences of living a lie. 

As I was writing the lyrics, I found it was also exactly like my ex-friend Erin as well. Since it's also about the brutal exposure of toxic dynamics, where someone's mask of innocence is shattered, revealing the truth behind their actions. 

For me, it's personal - it's about our mothers, but also about Erin who turned on me, projecting her own flaws onto me, and then rewriting the narrative to fit her own twisted version of reality. But it's also about something deeper - the way people can convince themselves of their own lies and the damage that does to themselves and others. 

This song is my truth, my anger, and my refusal to let the lies stand. It's a call out to anyone who's been hurt by someone's deceit and a reminder that the truth will always find a way to the surface.

And at the heart of the band is DJ/Producer Roman Medina that orchestrates the pageantry of music and lighting from behind his turntables and digital workstation.  The result of our planning and rehearsing, with your direction, is a cavalcade of sights and sounds.
