Very Raw Recording from the "One Chance" Sessions. The computer crashed but these files were recovered. Enjoy! I like to think of this song's vocal sessions as my "singing bootcamp". This experience, although tough and unforgiving, has done wonders for my performance on vocals. I am very thankful for this experience. 

Hate To Swing

Another track off the "One Chance" sessions! We never tracked the vocals for this one. I figured after the computer crashed this one should be saved for later. On the other hand, this track was a very unique experience for me (lots of first times). I actually had orchestrated a more complex piano part 
(not blocked chords or arpeggios). I got to overdub my drums multiple times in order to produce a sort of big  "concert percussion" sound. My production work is not very audible due to the low quality, but I feel this track has a special place in my heart. I hope to re-do all of the tracks from the "One Chance" sessions some day. For now, however, it is nice look back on these recordings fondly for what they were.

I started writing this piece at about 15 or so and finished it in probably about 2 years. I would come back to it and add something new for a week straight and then stop for a month. I just recorded the speaker sound because there is no way to export a tux guitar file. I love listening to this because I was just "going for it". I didn't have any rules, I just used my ear and went. At the time I was probably listening to bands like Blink-182 and Foo Fighters. I hear influences from all sorts of things that came before this tune. At one point I clearly here "Give Us This Day" by David Maslanka as well as a more avant garde ideas from this group called Beer For Dolphins. It's nice to hear where I was in my writing, and to me this is definitely something that I hold close to my heart. This piece opened doors for me I can call it my own. I would like to give a more musical and theoretical analysis of this song, but I feel I have taken up enough space here. 

Hello Two Birds, Meet One Stone

This is a work in progress. I thought I would just share some of what I have so far.

Romantic Idea

This was a track I started working on during the summer of 2014 after listening to the track "Mr. Jones" by the Counting Crows. I was inspired by the elongated phrases and the mouthful of lyrics. The bridge/outro was mostly improvised. I can't wait to track this in its true form, for I have lots of it planned out in my head already. This probably the most upbeat song I have ever written and it is most certainly a fun one. The vocals are hard to make out in this recording at times because my grandma was sleeping close by and I had to tone it down(I should have played softer!). A lot of this is in falsetto where it would normally be chest or mixed but the idea is there all the same. Enjoy!
