Velvet May returns on “Tears on Waves” with his third and latest EP “Phoebe’s White Skin” to be released on January 2020. The new record comes out with a new touch and research of new sounds, making this EP a well done bond among EBM, Techno and Post- Punk textures.
Phoebe is the venal muse, her hollow eyes are full of nocturnal visions. In this record she takes part of a story of pain and pleasure, horror and madness where the passion burns all thru the night, taking her to the edge of the daylight. She screams and, with heavy breathing and not bold enough, tries to connect her state of mind to something that got stolen already, causing an immense sense of drowning.

Records boss looks directly to his 90s inspirations spitting out a raw, stripped down techno 4 tracker that is equally brutal and functional for the floor. Filled with a heightened minimalist tension across the record.Morelli has shaken things up again putting his spin on the expectations of the bastardized genre.

Premiere #84 Ron Morelli - Exhibition Of Counterfeits Pt 2 [BITE]

The sixth vinyl release from Soil Records vindicates this project's great commitment to a retrospective style in which the bass lines are clearly dominant over the rest of the sound elements.

The French artists Imperial Black Unit open the A side with a psychedelic adaptation of EBM in which the arpeggio is transferred to all the harmonic patterns, from the bass frequencies to the acid melody. The second cut on this side is by the Czech couple Fractions. Intensity is a piece with more than half of its development with a syncopated bass drum and a break and a bass line more typical of the electro, although the track still has a great connection with the nature of the label because of its industrial sound.  LVRIN closes the A side with Return, opaque acid techno with a lot of details, from its degraded rhythm to twisted timbres.


Cash On the Dresser is the first cut of the B side, this time it's the Czech Exhausted Modern who with a slower cadence and an arpeggiated bass loop creates a sound framework that denotes serenity, but at the same time also shows an overwhelming energy. Ekman signs the second and final cut on this side with 48, an electro track with which the Dutch producer demonstrates that with few elements and well used he can create a consistent track, in this case using only the rhythmic part, bass line, a pad and a final melodic component.
